A study in the journal "Pediatrics" surveyed 34,707 Minnesota teenagers and found that fully 25.9 percent of 12-year-olds were uncertain if they were gay or straight.

THAT is a very good point, and I wish more of the complaints about situations like this came from this perspective, as opposed to the "God Hates Fags" viewpoint that unfortunately permeates these threads.

As a libertarian, I couldn't care less how a homosexual chooses to live his life, and as an agnostic, I don't use my perception of a deity's views towards homosexuality as a barometer of my opinions. But as a realist, I see the inherent danger in placing an adult in intimate, private company with a child of the gender he or she is sexually attracted to. I don't think a heterosexual male should be a Girl Scout Troop leader, I wouldn't want to see a young boy in this program with a Big Sister, and I don't see any reason to have a homosexual male keep close company with a young boy.

I think if more conservatives couched their arguments in these terms and left out comments like "chutney ferret", we'd have a much easier time convincing the general public of the dangers of this kind of thing.

I know the feeling. I'd imagine that it's a lot like making reasoned arguments, and being attacked by people who don't even bother listening to what you have to say, resort to childish name-calling, and accuse you of all sorts of ridiculous viewpoints, even when you agree with them.

I thought you did a good expansion on the original comment. I'm a Christian and mostly conservative. But when you take religion out of the mix, it does boil down to pure common sense. Unfortunately, as you commented, people don't think of it in those terms.

They are not recommending that the chapters accept active homosexuals; they are requiring that they include them.

It seems obvious to me that homosexuals with pedophile tendencies are exactly the ones that will be interested in joining the organization. Certain baits attract certain animals. The solution would be to always pair a homosexual to a child of the opposite sex.

My guess is that the organization will become increasingly homosexual over time - like the 1/3 lesbian Girl Scouts, or the 40% homosexual Catholic priesthood.

Again, send these boys to Boy Scouts - the odds of any sort of homosexual molestation are much, much lower there and the vast majority of adults involved are indeed good, decent AND straight men.

Homosexuals have the right to lead their lives the way they want. They don't have an automatic right to be around other people's kids (though they think they do). And you're right. They have brought enormous shame on the Catholic Church, while raping the bodies and torturing the psyches of thousands of teenage Catholic boys. In that situation, I assure you, there is great outrage.

I'm Catholic and am not happy with the way the homosexuals have desecrated the Church. I have stopped attended mass and no longer give to the church. With the extra money I have upped my donations to Conservative Causes.

What will it take to stop the homosexual movement? Certainly not bashing Catholics. Perhaps you should join us in outing the truth about the homosexual lifestyle and their recruitment of our young.

I think the great fear of homosexuals is that the public will find out what they are really like! Their lifestyle is anything but “gay”. If the truth were in the news night after night the public would be justly repulsed by the vileness of what the homosexuals do.
