Good work. Now, you have your first posted article behind you and you're initiation is complete. :)

Whew, we have a serial killer on the loose, a serious outbreak of West Nile Virus, we may have our very own anthrax bioterrorist in our midst and now we have the makings of a tropical storm heading our way.... Dang, I was heading for the coast this week. Will someone please remind me why I live here ?

"We really need mucho rain. Our main lake is over 12 feet from full pool. "

My lakes are fuller now than they have been in three years, still not full though, this could do it.

I hope y'all don't get flooded. But around Augusta, GA we are really hurting.

This is full pool.

This storm may not be strong enough, but it is approaching NO from the worst possible direction. The Mississippi river gulf outlet canal has caused the destruction of most of the swamps that protected NO's southeast approach. A big storm from that direction would be devestating.

Same here in central NC. We don't want a hurricane but danged if a good tropical storm wouldn't help get us through this drought. I hope and pray the good folks on the Gulf Coast don't get flooded though

Thanks for the neato radar image in post 6.

I've lived through many hurricanes in the Houston area and have this natural instinct to tract them.

Say, you have an interesting homepage. I'll have to check it out more thoroughly.

Yup, that's the TS I dodged today flying from Marathon Key back to Daytona Beach. Anyone who thinks flying through these things is fun needs their head examined.

I'm a weather geek - good job for a first post.

A GRADUAL TURN TOWARD THE WEST-NORTHWEST ON MONDAY

My dog and I are heading for Lake Livingston at noon Tuesday. . . my first time off since the first week of June. If this storm makes for a rainy east Texas mid-week I'm am going to cry.

I'm in Brownsville and we got some rain today too. I thought I heard it and looked out my north window. Nothing. I then looked out the east window to my back yard. I saw it coming down. It's been so long since it rained that I though my husband had turned on the sprinkler again and was going to get us in trouble. LOL

Now at 9:25 PM Central time, it appears from most radar images anyway, to be loosing energy rather quickly. Hopefully, it will continue inland overnight where it will loose strength quickly (get it out of the warm-water/storm-building gulf).

I graduated from meteorology school in May of 1959; after that, I spent 4 years with the USAF and 4 years as a civilian meteorological research assistant at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, Calif.

I hardly think that a tropical depression that starts out at the shoreline as this satellite picture indicates has any chance of building in strength; I hate weekends, no real news, you know?

There were towns in Central and West Texas last summer that completely ran OUT of water! They had to haul drinking water in from another town......... there are a lot of areas that desperately need rain..........I hope your area gets some soon too......
