DONNA DEES-THOMASES is the founder of the Washington, D.C.-based Million Mom March. More like the million Mohammud march

Disingenuous little bit$h. The German parliament was *already* contemplating those laws when the shooting took place!. Some of at the time even wondered at the 'manchurian candidate'ness of it all.

"Just an ordinary mom" Dess-Thomases trots out the usual lies, and the usual incrementalist bans. "We don't want to ban all guns (today), just all pump-action guns."

So much for the "We're not after your duck guns" mantra of the anti-Constitution crowd, eh?

Oh yeah, I can't take anybody from Short Hills NJ that calls themselves 'grass roots' seriously! Short Hills is one of THE most expensive places to live. Even the *mall* has valet parking! This woman is one reason I really hate northern soccer mom types, no connection to reality. None. Not even a little bit. Bet she hasn't even done her own *grocery* shopping in years.

All this woman really needs, is some good conservative pump action of her own...

Do you want to hear something really stupid? Yesterday I purchased a Mossberg "pump action" shotgun. It comes fitted with a wooden dowel to prevent more than two shells from being inserted in order to protect "migrating birds." Of course, any idiot, including me, can remove this dowel (it's even in the instructions) so you can use its full capacity. Evidently this was done to meet the requirements of some idiotic law that congress passed. I predict that no more gun laws will be passed so long as we have terrorism on our doorstep.

Why is it that liberals think people are smart enough to make choices at the voting booth and choices to abort a life, but are not smart enough to own a gun or choose a school?

In Michigan, Ali Boumelhem, linked to the terrorist organization Hezbollah, was convicted Sept. 10 of conspiring to smuggle guns and ammunition to Lebanon. Federal agents testified they saw him buying weapons at three gun shows. BWAAHAAHAAAAHAAAHAAA
A terrorist will come to the US to buy a watered down semi-automatic version of a AK-47 for upwards of $400 US currency where he can easily get a REAL full-automatic AK-47 for around $100 in his home land? And I have a bridge in Brooklyn for sale if anyone's interested...

What next, banning bricks. The two men murdered in Chicago were bashed to death by neighborhood punks using bricks.
Let's address the subject of violence without blaming the vehicle used in the commission of those crimes.

That woman is so uptight, it sounds like she needs some good pump action of her own.

In Littleton, two teenagers gunned down 13 schoolmates and teachers before killing themselves. The law prohibited the underage Columbine High School killers from owning their private arsenal, including a semiautomatic weapon. But the consistent failure of state legislatures or the federal government to implement strong enforcement mechanisms -- like universal background checks, the licensing of gun owners and firearm registration -- made it easy for them to get their guns. All it took was a friend to pick up the murder weapons at a local gun show -- a friend who later testified that she never would have bought the guns if she had been subject to a background check.
In the Erfurt case, Germany's gun laws were also insufficient to keep firearms out of the hands of a disturbed youth. Despite a history of troubles at school, a 17-year-old was legally authorized to own the 9mm handgun and pump-action rifle that he used to kill 17 people, including students, teachers, a policeman and himself. He obtained a German firearms license with relative ease -- no psychological examination required.
What she is very carefully not saying is that German already had all of the laws - universal background checks, the licensing of gun owners and firearm registration, that she says would have prevented Columbine.

a friend who later testified that she never would have bought the guns if she had been subject to a background check. I thought she passed a background check. The anti gun lobby has been pushing that "gun show loophole" lie for so long they believe their own lies now.

Ever notice how strong the correlation is between women who hyphenate their surnames, like Donna Dees-Thomasas, and a confused mental state?
As though, in blithe ignorance of history, tradition, and common sense, they're consumed by the need to reinvent every wheel?

...made it easy for them to get their guns. All it took was a friend to pick up the murder weapons at a local gun show -- a friend who later testified that she never would have bought the guns if she had been subject to a background check......Despite a history of troubles at school, a 17-year-old was legally authorized to own the 9mm handgun and pump-action rifle that he used to kill 17 people, including students, teachers, a policeman and himself. He obtained a German firearms license with relative ease -- no psychological examination required....
...The new (German) laws don't preclude private ownership of guns, they just include common-sense measures: raising the age of ownership for firearms from 18 to 21; requiring that people under 25 seeking to purchase a gun pass a psychological examination; and banning pump-action guns....
Was this woman born stupid, or did she have to work at it? She implies that background checks and "psychological exams" would have prevented the Columbine disaster?I can't figure out where she's going with this. Her position is so disjointed that it makes even less sense than the premise starts with.
Because of the issues raised in the wake of Columbine, she wants to have legislation pushed through that would "close the loophole," as she puts it, that would limit gunshow registration. Then she wants to raise the age of ownership from 18 to 21; Finally she wants to ban pump action guns?
Can anyone see the path she's trying to take? This looks more like a "scatter-gun" approach (pun not intended) to ultimately try to ramrod a total ban through.
Let's take this point by point.
- Limiting gun show sales would do nothing to stem the violence she says guns perpetrating on our society. Honest citizens would pass through the system, and the bad guys would continue to use the black or gray market to get their firearms. Next!
- Raising the ownership limit from 18 to 21 becomes questionable, considering that we have no problem with arming our 18 year-olds to defend this land from enemies foreign and domestic. What's she going to do, eliminate 18 to 21 year-olds from the armed forces? I don't think so. Next!
- Finally, she wants to get rid of pump-action guns. She gives no rationale, no logic, no reason for this. It's more of an "oh, by the way, let's get rid of these for the hell of it!" She probably figures she can sneak that one in to wipe out the shotguns and pump-action rifles, which would make it easier for her to get rid of the handguns next time around.
This moron thinks that people are stupid. She must if she thinks this is anything that a rational, thinking person could agree with. As with the poverty pimps, the gun grabbers use emotion to cloud the thinking of people who would otherwise have a reasoned and logical response to her suggestions. Only this time, she tries to point to Germany and say "See! They've got more sense than we do!"
I wonder what'll happen next time someone breaks into her home...

Meanwhile, gun shows have become a reliable source of weapons used in crime and terrorism. In Michigan, Ali Boumelhem, linked to the terrorist organization Hezbollah, was convicted Sept. 10 of conspiring to smuggle guns and ammunition to Lebanon. Federal agents testified they saw him buying weapons at three gun shows. More lies, as this has been well-debunked already by Dave Kopel as I recall. The guns he was charged with smuggling were not obtained at gun shows but regular transactions. Lying witch.

There are so many lies and distortions of reality in this article I don't even know where to begin. Perhaps I'll just choose to ignore it.
