Cruithne isn't technically a true two-body satellite of the Earth like our moon. It's a part of a three-body system; a rock that happens to share our orbit around the Sun.

This new moon being captured by Earths orbit is no doubt the fault of modern man destroying it's environment. If we continue to destroy our environment and force our mother Earth to continue to capture "new" moons then we will soon be shut into under darkness and face the prspect of a "new moon winter"!
