What's this clown's percentage of the National Endowment for the Arts?

But what if our bomb explosions are done with visual impact in mind? Then killing the enemy would be ok, right?

I'll be sure to drop a note by Larry Gagosian one day real soon, asking for Damien Hirst's critique of what will surely be a visually stunning U.S. devastation of Baghdad.

Sally Regenhard, who lost her son, a firefighter, said: "We should kick his butt into the demonic caves that those demonic barbarians crawled out of. Let him personally congratulate them. I really feel this is garbage, just like his art is. I'm calling on the art community to rise up."

Just when I think I can't possibly dislike this woman more, she says something that makes me REALLY LIKE her, and I have to start all over from scratch.

You tell him, sister!

Damien Hirst is famous for sawing animals in half and sticking them in formaldehyde.

Does PETA know about this? Or are there artistic exceptions to the mutilation of animals?

If he wants visually stunning we should let him observer a nuclear explosion from 500 feet.

It may happen. Hirst's New York art dealer, Larry Gagosian, told us: "I am shocked and angry to hear about Damien's irresponsible comment. This is a senseless and deeply offensive thing to say. Clearly, Damien owes us all a major apology."

Right, Larry-boy, but you're not "shocked and angry" enough to cancel your profit-making relationship with old Damien, are you?

Mr. Hirst and his cohorts have not passed thru the "Mommy look what I made with my poopoo" stage of human development.

And I put even greater responsibility on the rich suckers who buy Hirst and company's poo-poo, thus elevating these talking turds to positions of eminence and alleged "respect".

Dear Mr. Hirst:

I'd like to ask for your collaboration in the display of a cutting edge piece of performance art that I have engeniused. (I made that word up, ya like it?)

This is a powerful concept commenting on the subject of Man's Inhumanity to Man, visually stunning yet minimalist in concept, requiring only you (nude and oiled) and an 8-foot long yew stake, sharpened at one end, the other end embedded firnly in a concrete base.

The title of this conceptualization is: "Impalement".

I really hope you will consent to collaborating with me on this important work, it was designed with you in mind! Even though the display will be limited to 24 hours, I'm sure that you will find that it makes a permanent impression on your life. Caio!

Other "visuals" that stunned people who saw them were: 1) the bodies at Aushwitz, and 2) the skulls in Cambodia. I wonder what he thinks of those?

I agree MadIvan, this modern art does not compare to any of the greats. I had a chance at one point to begin the journey to studying in New York. The scene was ridiculous to me then and I was a liberal punk type at the time. At that point, I decided I just wanted to go home and produce art--I could care less if I ever sold it or some fruit loop in New York could appreciate it. IMO, so much of the artworld is a popularity contest, if you are as weird as they are and hang out in the same loops they do, anything you do will be reveled as art.

Doesn't exactly fit your description, but it's a start.

My artist daughter goes to a Christian school and is used to seeing art thought of as a special talent from the Creator to be used to glorify Him. She took an art course at a local college this summer and had her eyes opened really wide to some of the junk and attitudes that is called art today. But nothing that she experienced even comes close to this. I imagine that if he's standing in the area the next time Bin Laden's henchmen come calling, if he's still able to speak, it will be to a very different tune!

When dealing with the likes of Hirst, ask yourself: WWVTID?

Yep, that's what I had in mind, pretty much. I like the way it combines historical and multicultural aspects in a way so relevant to post-modern artistic sensibilities, don't you? [wink]

Leftists "artists" are confusing art with political propaganda. In Germany, the Nazis displayed Aryan art that was merely political propaganda. Their cousins the Soviet Communists did exactly the same. The art establishment today is promoting their radical left agenda the same way.

Damien, if you think that was visually stunning art, I'd like to propose a performance piece where you explore what it's like to fall from a thousand-foot-tall office building to the street. Try it sometime. I assure you you'll make a huge impact. Viewers will be awed at your bold colors. And naturally, in keeping with your previous shows, we'll preserve you in formaldehyde and send you on tour so the whole world can see your genius. Ruling, baby. Just ruling.
