I don't think McVeigh told his attorneys everything. I think he hated the government, and went to his death knowing -- or at least having a good idea of -- what would come later.

All excellent questions.

So please explain the missing documents appeal

The original execution was set for April, Aschcroft rescheduled for June when the "missing documents" stuation went public. The appeal did not effect the execution date because of McVeigh's cooperation.

Absent McVeigh's cooperation, his case would still be in the appeals process.

If that's the case, why did Ashcroft mention the missing documents at all? Why was the execution delayed

A majority of the FBI personnel in the field offices are dedicated public servants who follow orders much the way soldiers do. Once there was a change in Administrations, I believe there were some FBI Agents with comparable courage to Robert Wright and other whistleblowers who were going to insist that the "missing(or hidden) documents" be made available prior to the McVeigh execution. Their efforts were in vain. Please keep in mind these Agents know all that Jayna knows and more about the Middle Eastern connection.

I also have a hard time believing his post-Otto attorneys would take as many risks as they did, if such a deal was in place. Even the trial itself might have been avoided

Fair enough, what do you think the motivation for her statement was?

But McVeigh didn't "cooperate" completely --he appealed, although there was a stretch there when it didn't appear he was going to.

And if he was only doing it for show, and knew he was going to be executed anyway, then why not go to the Supreme Court? Do you think there was some concern the Supremes wouldn't have gone along with "the deal", that that was part of the package?

Still wanting your thoughts on Jones' motivation, however.

Don't know what to make of Otto's remarks, anymore than the rest of it.

Gotta go now, but please respond. Thanks.

In my opinion, Jones was doing his duty the best he could under the circumstances. His client was helping the prosecution in every way possible, the Judge was helping his client help the prosecution, I simply don't know what more Jones could have done under the circumstances.

In my opinion, Jones is a brilliant man and chooses his words carefully. He has repeated the same words in his book and on national TV. I believe his words have meaning. I do not believe we will ever fully understand the OKC bombing until we understand the meaning of these words:

"When you know everything I know, Stephen, and you will, soon enough, you will never think of the United States of America again in the same way"

then why not go to the Supreme Court?

Both McVeigh and the Department of Justice wanted a speedy execution.

This is weird. I had never heard of General Patrick Cleburne until today in the waiting room at the doctor's office where I read about him in a magazine. Now he pops up on your site. Hmmm.

Oh...that's right...the investigation into drug smuggling at the Mena, Arkanssas airport was run out of the DEA's OKC offices.

Can you say Raymond "Buddy" Young?

Can you say "Plausable deniability?"

It sounds like McVeigh was in the "The enemy of my enemy is my friend" camp. What about Terry Nichols travelling in the Abu Sayaaf controlled region of the Philippines?

This topic is evoking more emotion than ever these days. It is a measurable tide that I have felt from the git go. I would never had donned the tin foil hat on this one had I not seen Bill Clinton and minions lying, cheating stealing and killing with my very eyes.

Honway, the more I think about it, the fewer holes I can find in your theory. And that's the first time that's ever happened, in regard to this situation.

I know most people might not be as familiar with all the details and history, but I wish they would be, just so they might understand how and why 9/11 might have occurred. And I mean that on a number of levels.

It's almost(but not quite)unbelievable. Jones' statements might also serve to cover his behind if and when the sh$t ever does hits the fan, which doesn't look very likely at this point.

Today is the day the Oklahoma Supreme Court is supposed to consider the "financial impact" of Terry Nichols' state murder charges, and ultimately decide whether they should be dismissed, as his attorney has requested.

Does anybody really believe this trial is ever going to take place? It will require a miracle.

How can the people of Oklahoma deal with this?

Or the people of the U.S?

I suppose that's why the decision's been made to keep it under wraps. But, if it's true, imagine how the people who know it for certain must feel.

Wouldn't want to be in their shoes. More prayers in order.

I have often wondered about that. Many of these people are like you and I, they love their country and would go out of their way to help a neighbor or a stranger. Yet they have to look in the mirror and say to themselves "I was following orders."

Obviously partcipating in or not participating in a cover up was not going to bring those 168 people back, though had all the participants been prosecuted the American people would have demanded a war on this terror network in 1995 and 9-11 would just be another date on the calender. That's a consequence of the cover up I would not want to face in the mirror.

The Padilla theory is supported by the Phillipines connection as well as this: "Timothy McVeigh was in the lead, and John Doe #2 was right behind him — a dark skinned, possibly Mexican American, possibly native American, some people say, but dark skinned," Johnson recalled.

A Padilla connection is, of course, neutral to the premise of the Iraqi/Al Husseini. The two are not mutually exclusive.

Thanks for the ping.

The way Jones explains it in his book, an attorney is obligated and required to follow the directives of the client. I highly recommend the book.

From “Others Unknown” by Stephen Jones

Page 259

"But the most telling indication was Tim’s “manifesto” to the defense team of November 24,1996. It was handwritten, addressed to “All Attorneys Assigned to U.S. Versus McVeigh,” and it read as follows: "

Defense strategy:

As official notice, let it be known that I do not approve of a trial strategy in which Terry Nichols is attacked, blamed or otherwise implicated in any crimes. Further, I do not approve of pointing the finger of responsibility at anyone else who I know is not responsible or who is in no way deserving of such scrutiny. I have relayed this wish orally for 18 months-not only concerning Terry Nichols, but also addressing the “foreign” investigations and the “neo- Nazi” investigations. My oral requests have been basically ignored for the past 18 months and it is only recently that Judge Matsch has forced the defense into partial compliance with my wish. However, the defense still tries to ignore my wishes-demands where Terry Nichols is concerned.

I will not allow you to coerce me into lowering my moral and ethical values to that of attorneys and lawyers.

So that it is clear, I approve of any general reference to unknown others or cover-ups, but I expressly do not approve of any specific allegation against specific groups or individuals-unless those groups or individuals are clearly approved by me in writing.(The only person or groups that I currently give permission to attack is Roger Moore.) For further explanation of my feelings, see the letter I wrote to Jeralyn Merrit with attached 4 x 6 Post-its which I delivered to Bob Wyatt on October 30,1996. Attached to this letter was a request for general circulation and comment, but it also has been ignored.

(signed) Tim McVeigh November 24, 1996

Jones continues on page 259:

"In other words, we were now restricted from raising the possibility of anybody else involved, unless Tim gave us permission in writing, and the only person he was authorizing was Roger Moore, against whom he nursed a grievance but who, from everything we knew, hadn’t been involved in the bombing!"
