While we are listing famous people who have live in Iowa let us not forget Antonin Dvorakm the great Czech composer who lived in Spillville for a time.

Good Morning from Maine. It is 40 deg F on the Downeast coast and our 3 inches of snow from Thu has almost melted. I hope Iowa FR profilers have been pinged and will add to the R&R pleasure of our troops and FRoops her at the USO Canteen.

Good Saturday Meeeeoow-ning everyone! What a beautiful state to spend Liberty R&R in today. I've only been through a portion of Iowa once, on the way to Minnesota years ago. I remember miles and miles of corn fields and was blown away by that. I thought it was gorgeous...guess that's the farm girl in me.

Hello service men and women past and present, and allies. Thank You! for defending our Freedom. I hope you enjoy the trip through beautiful Iowa that Snow Bunny has taken everybody on today.

G O O D

M O R N I N G

F R O M

M A I N E

Top o' the mornin' to ya all.

And now that we are wiping away the night's cobwebs, may I gently take this opportunity to GRACIOUSLY INVITE EVERYONE to join us in the USO Canteen Chapel tomorrow morning, November 10, in the year of our Lord 2002?

As always, there is plenty of room, the most pleasant folk you can find anywhere, hymns for your singin' along, passages from the Good Book and a devotional layout to encourage you on your significant way.

God be near you. God watch over you.

AND GOD REMIND YOU THAT YOU ARE LOVED IN HIM, PRAYED FOR CONSTANTLY, AND MEAN THE WORLD TO THE REST OF US 'OUT HERE.'

Got it? Got it!

Blessings,

Chap Grant

Today's FEEBLE attempt at humor:

A newly married sailor was informed by the Navy that he
was going to be stationed a long way from home on a remote
island in the Pacific for a year. A few weeks after he
got there he began to miss his new wife, so he wrote her
a letter. "My love," he wrote, "we are going to be apart
for a very long time. Already I'm starting to miss you
and there's really not much to do here in the evenings.
Besides that, we're constantly surrounded by young
attractive native girls. Do you think if I had a hobby of
some kind I would not be tempted?"

So his wife sent him back a harmonica saying, "why don't
you learn to play this?" Eventually his tour of duty came
to an end and he rushed back to his wife.

"Darling" he said, "I can't wait to get you into bed so
that we make passionate love!"

She kissed him and said, "First let's see you play that
harmonica."
