Don't know if it matches Plato's description of Atlantis in any way.

has determined that the technique dates back to about A.D. 500.Try...15,000 B.C.!
Lake Titicaca rose from sea level so fast that the Sea Horse, normally found only in Salt Water, is abundant in the fresh water lake. Tiahuanaco...aligned with the night sky...17,000 years ago.
Hint...it was Global Warming...in the middle of the last Ice Age!!

"Don't know if it matches Plato's description of Atlantis in any way." Jim Allen has a very interesting one hour documentary covering this theory. I don't buy it but, it sure is interesting. If I remember correctly, he is an ex-satellite imaging expert for the British military.

From Another thread.
"I read recently somewhere about a city discovered in Mexico with a fully functional ocean port. Trouble is, the city sits at 10,000 feet."
More talk on this thread about sea ports in the mountains.

This is very interesting. It is the same technique used by the Maya in lowland Central America and Yucatan.

A while back, I watched a documentary on the water works. Some observers have correlated the demise of the indian populations with a period of severe drought that resluted in a migration of the people to more hospitable environs.

I saw that show. After an hour of him expounding his theories, the lake he identifies through satellite imagery as being the long lost city of Atlantis turns out to be a mining resevoir built in 1950.

They also say the Amazon River basin was agricultural with a huge population before it was allowed to return to nature not so long ago.

Yes, I just read that on the thread linked above. All of this predates the so-called Clovis hunter culture in N. America.
