Exactly. The temperature inside the containment building was probably hot due to the outside ambient temperatures. If the containment cooling fans were having trouble keeping the temperature from butting up against limits, the building could be sprayed with water to attempt to cool the outside temperature of the dome / containment building and make more of a heat sink available. Remember, heat energy travels from hot to less hot.
Nukes have limits on temperatures on all the required systems necessary to keep the energy coming. Ya gotta shut down or reduce load if you exceed the temperature limits. It isn't like the reactor was out of control and excessively hot. The reactor temperature is tightly controlled and not allowed to deviate from required limits. That is a big no-no just like exceeding nuclear power limits. Gotta protect the core!

They probably have sensors that registers the temperature inside the building and in case that it exceeds 50 C there is an automatic emergency shutdown. They have not anticipated that an increase in the temperature can be caused by sunny weather.

Another good reason for Americans to avoid France for at least 50 years.

Reminds me of Flatpoint High and Mountain Valley High from Strangers With Candy.
Not to mention our own bluntpoint.
