"I do not think he will be using video of the aircraft carrier in his campaign." I think McAwful has just guaranteed another whole round of flight suit pictures being sent around the world!

"Sen. John F. Kerry, D-Mass., called Rumsfeld's statement a "reprehensible" attempt to stifle dissent."
There is a big difference when it comes to dissent and disruption...especially during a time of war. If John Kerry wants to "dissent" he had his chance, but he voted to give authorization for the war on terror. I remember the Kosovo conflict and how there were some Republicans who objected to that war. And yet, everyone of those Republicans (Delay, Army) were taken to task by the "media" for their un-Americanism and lack of support for Clinton. When Delay "questioned" the timing of Clinton's impeachment-eve bombing of Iraq, he was roundly criticized for his un-patriotic comments. There hasn't been one media personality who has criticized the Democrats un-Americanism...and when anyone else does, they are accused of stifling dissent.
Interestingly, once the Kosovo conflict started most if not all of the Republicans got on board...and even with those that didn't, you did not hear the vitriol that is being espoused today. In fact, many of them said if we're going to do it, let's do it right..complaining that Clinton took ground troops off the table. Sure there were disagreements, but those disagreements weren't made personal by attacking the Commander and Chief in the public arena through the media. Wag-the-Dog was bandied about alot...and for good reason, but not by those in real positions of power. Rush Limbaugh or Bill Krystol don't count. I just can't describe the disgust I have for these people and the double-standard media that criticized any Republican who dared question Clinton's motives. This war isn't about covering for a sex-scandal or feeding some folks in Somalia or Haiti: It is a fight that has life and death consequences for us all...and yet the Democrats continue to enable the enemies of this country with their so-called dissent. I guess politics only ends at the waters edge when there's a Democrat in the WH.

I swear, Dog, we should get big pictures of President Bush in that flight suit, mount them on posters, and wave them at McAuliffe and the Nine Dwarves.
It would probably be like waving crosses at vampires!! Ha!

That would make a good slogan for the Democratic Party:
Putting Politics ahead of Patriotism since 1968!Actually, I wouldn't accuse McAuliffe of putting politics before patriotism, because that assumes that he has a sense of patriotism.

Terry would prefer a beret, a blue dress (complete with stain) as opposed to a flight suit....
then everything would serve as a reminder of our greatest President in the eyes of the Dems

Terry is a rotten to the core baby boomer.
People like him are a disgrace to this country.
The good news is that this evil will end when this segment of this generation is gone.

"They continue to seek a new low in presidential discourse." The worst is yet to come. Every time we think the RATS can't sink any lower, they prove us wrong!

Thanks for your kind words on that other thread. That guy wasn't worth the effort, and certainly not worth giving another bump to his thread.

Terrorists "take heart in that, and that leads to more money going into these activities ... more recruits ... more encouragement," Rumsfeld saidAnd I think the American people, at least the 51% or so that can actually think things through, will see that Rumsfeld is right and McDirty is wrong, really wrong.
And the proof will be in the 2004 military ballots. I'm betting 90% to 10% for Bush and this time the military will get to vote.
