"Here were the world's foreign ministers and heads of state, anxiously awaiting some sign of an American concession to realismeven the sketchiest outline of a plan to share not just the burden but the power of postwar occupation in Iraq. And Bush gave them nothing, in some ways less than nothing."
Sounds Great to me !
Saves our President a lot of valuable time when he can tell them all to Drop Dead at once rather then individually !

Otherwise, Bush's message can be summarized as follows: The U.S.-led occupation authority is doing good work in Iraq; you should come help us; if you don't, you're on the side of the terrorists. Hey, Mr. Kaplan...this sure works for me!

Fred.
Fred?
Putting words in other people's mouths and then building a column around them is considered bad form.

Hey, at least Slate! has taken a cue from Hillary! and put an exclamation point at the end of their name.
Their stock must be trading at .000000001 to warrant that.
To: Pikamax
Slate magazine should be ashamed of themselves for printing Fred Kaplan's subversive rot.

do you have a link to confirm the inaction taken by the u.n. in kosovo. it was my understanding that they had a vote on the security council to affirm the action taken. i think the vote was 13-0 with the chinese abstaining.

C'mon face reality here folks.....Bush is a Republican LBJ. I wonder if he'll quit like LBJ (after the damage was already done)....or just get voted out of office like his Daddy? God forbid what the Dems will to to America when they get hold of the mess Bush will have left.

Dear Fred,
Bush is a pansy.
If I was in charge, you and your friends would be beef jerky.

If anyone is impertinent it is the UN members.

MEMO TO FRED KAPLAN:I heard something slightly different-- it was "Drop dead you slug, Fred Kaplan."
To: Pikamax
Oh hell..........what does anyone expect from someone who writes for Slate? What a bunch of pantywaisted drivel.

The UN has had multiple opportunities to do their duty. They failed. And failed. And failed. The US, under the leadership of a president with gonads, stepped up to the plate and relieved the world of a 21st century Hitler. He has offered to allow the UN to join us under supervision. What does Kaplan think he should do? (And there was no hint of "drop dead" in Bush's speech.)

".........impertinent.........."I read no further.
Am I to conclude the author thought that Bush should have gone with his hat-in-hand and asked for forgiveness before the world body for the collective crimes of his administration?
FU, buddy........and the horse you rode in on.

"HA! Anything from Slate is a joke. Bush did a GREAT job today!"
I agree. He looked presidential, said what needed to be said, held his ground, and didn't give the frenchies an inch. Superb.
