It would appear that the spewing naysayers are determined to drag the topic down to their level.

Perhaps a caucus thread is the only fitting route. Sadly.

Huh...I thought Jesus Christ was the only intercessor.

You win today's bonus prize for alertness.

There is indeed but one intercessor between God and man, you wascally, unbiblical Catholic, and don't you ever forget it.

"Intercession" is only unbiblical when Catholics apply it to the saints and angels in heaven. It's OK when it applies to fellow Protestant Christians walking the earth.

Get it?

Neither do I.

Say what you will, but I awoke from a dream a few months ago convinced that God had spoken to me because a specific phrase kept repeating over and over again in my head: See how society debases itself. I am watching . . . and waiting, thirsting for more. And I’m not a kook.

AMEN!!

Such things tend to depend on experience for belief.

Even though most Christians have had something similar . .. a Bible verse jumping out at them by Holy Spirit for a specific current concern.

Thanks for your concern.

I too have heard some odd “prophecies”. But, as others have said, I’ll chime in, I NEVER discount a word as not being from the Lord. It’s an art form, hearing from the Lord and then speaking it aloud. It could be one’s imagination or an evil spirit, too. So, we use discernment. And when it seems fitting, we report what we hear.

I certainly would not want to say something’s not of the Lord that is of Him.

My walk with Jesus has included being led of the Spirit and being obedient even when other folks (even some who say they are Christians) mock me and heap ridicule on me. He uses the foolish things of the world to confound the wise. I don’t go out of my way to appear foolish, but I don’t avoid it, either, if that’s what He chooses for me, then He bears my shame. I trust Him with the outcome.

I don’t know exactly how other types of Christians walk by faith. For me, it includes relying on the Holy Spirit.

The end result no matter how each walks by faith, for all believers, hopefully, is that they live fruitful lives, with worship in their hearts for the Lord Jesus Christ, Who is the Son of God and the Savior of the world, knowing Him and being known by Him, so that they will finally hear, “Well done, good and faithful servant. Enter now into the rest I have prepared for you.”

We are baptized into one Body, Christ is the head of that Body, the first to rise from the dead. We believers are ALL members of the same body. There are times we speak the truth in love to one another. Perfect love casts out fear, so speaking the truth to one another should be a gentle thing.

Apart from Him, nothing we do has lasting significance. So, let’s remember we are one body, all of us relying on His life in us.

And yet, the works we do that are of Him will follow us into eternity.

I seek Him and I ask Him to help me be obedient, that He may use my life for His purposes, that I may love Him with my whole heart and love my neighbor as myself. If that includes sharing prophetic words, then others will be edified and reminded to keep on that straight and narrow path and will be stirred up to yield to Him more and serve Him wholeheartedly. May His purposes be accomplished.

He looks at the motives of all of our hearts. He is looking for sincerity. He’s looking for devotion to Him and to His Kingdom. He’s looking for loving attitudes. He’s looking to see what Spirit each of us is of.

May He be pleased.

Hebrews 7:25 Therefore He is able also to save to the uttermost those who come unto God by Him, seeing He ever liveth to make intercession for them.

1 Timothy 2:5 For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, 6 who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time,

= = =
We are still called to pray. Pray to our Father God. Pray in the Name of Jesus.

= = =
I don’t see anywhere in the Bible that we are told to pray to angels or the saints in Heaven. In fact, to be on the safe side, I would avoid speaking to the dead, per Leviticus

Leviticus 19:31 Regard not those who have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards to be defiled by them: I am the LORD your God.

Leviticus 20:6 And the soul that turneth after such as have familiar spirits and after wizards to go a whoring after them, I will even set My face against that soul and will cut him off from among his people.

Seems to be that handicap again . . .

DIFFERENT

VS

SAME

. . . a fellow believer . . . Alive in this time space/dimension vs alive in Heaven.

Interceding as a fellow earth-bound believer

vs

as interloper-horning-in-on-Jesus’-Glory-Magnificent-Magical-Earth-Mother-Mary-archetypal-Goddess

I wish I could help with that perceptual problem about

SAME VS DIFFERENT.

Alas, I have no handy solution.

Dear Joya,

Thank you for posting both Chuck Pierce and Francis Frangipane. I had already read both of these, but found it refreshing that they had been posted on FR for others to find. Thank you also for how eloquently you wrote in post #46.

Personally, I am completely in agreement with everything you have stated there.

When I was first ‘pinged’ regarding this thread I was excited to respond because prophetic words from The Elijah List and especially Chuck Pierce and Kim Clement have been regular companions with me on my walk with the Lord for several years now, astounding me with how what the Lord is speaking through them corresponds to where I find myself in life at that moment. Francis Frangipane’s course on Christlikeness was transforming in how he helped me understand God’s Way better. Nothing supplants the WORD of God, however, these have been some of the many tools God has sent my way to help.

God has been leading me from a place of captivity in my life (which I didn’t recognize as such) through a wilderness to where He had always pre-ordained I’d serve. It has been a blessed journey.

Long ago I gave up living by my own logic and came broken before the Lord asking Him to lead me - which requires us to hear His voice (which He promises we can do). And as you have already posted, frequently this means that how what He does looks will be different than the wise of this world expect. It MUST because otherwise He will not be revealed as God through it and His purpose is to be revealed and known! Yes, discernment is required and yes, we are human and make mistakes, but God KNOWS our limitations and looks at the heart. We look at the fruit and - despite any and all mocking along the way - in the end it will be revealed whether or not the source of a thing was GOD.

However, once I read all the posts in this thread I almost declined to post, thinking I’d perhaps mail to you privately instead. What caused me to change my mind was wanting to publicly support what you had written so one more was visibly standing by you.... The reason for my hesitation is that some years back I learned that for me there was little to no merit in debating the details of my faith with others. I will, of course, respond when asked. I will listen in love and perhaps share in response. But I will not debate. We are not given discernment to judge. Christ is the judge. We are to love one another. We are to exhibit the fruit of His Spirit. When through well-intentioned debate we tear each other to pieces, we have done nothing more than weaken the other parts of His Body to whom we too are connected. I think our intentions are good...we want to build one another up, but intead the result is rarely that anyone’s opinion changes. The result is generally not a coming together, but a larger rift. This is not God’s intent for the many parts of His Body.

I know this passage from Romans 14/15 is talking about ‘food’, but perhaps it has a relevance here too:

13Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in your brother’s way.

14As one who is in the Lord Jesus, I am fully convinced that no food is unclean in itself. But if anyone regards something as unclean, then for him it is unclean.

15If your brother is distressed because of what you eat, you are no longer acting in love. Do not by your eating destroy your brother for whom Christ died.

16Do not allow what you consider good to be spoken of as evil. 1

7For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit,

18because anyone who serves Christ in this way is pleasing to God and approved by men.

19Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification.

20Do not destroy the work of God for the sake of food. All food is clean, but it is wrong for a man to eat anything that causes someone else to stumble.

21It is better not to eat meat or drink wine or to do anything else that will cause your brother to fall.

22So whatever you believe about these things keep between yourself and God. Blessed is the man who does not condemn himself by what he approves.

23But the man who has doubts is condemned if he eats, because his eating is not from faith; and everything that does not come from faith is sin.

15 1We who are strong ought to bear with the failings of the weak and not to please ourselves.

2Each of us should please his neighbor for his good, to build him up.

3For even Christ did not please himself but, as it is written: “The insults of those who insult you have fallen on me.”

4For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.

5May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus,

6so that with one heart and mouth you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

7Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God

Therefore, though FR is for discussion, I choose not enter into debate about whether the prophetic is right or wrong or any other topic of this sort. My objective is to focus on what we share in common - the belief in Christ crucified, risen and coming again, the understanding that God is Father, Son and Holy Spirit, the command that we worship Him alone. Oh, that we would put aside the details and come together as one for Him on the foundation of Christ in the two ways which we can: by our prayer and worship! How He would delight in the unity of us, His children, for Him in this!

Thank you again for your posts, Joya.

I don’t see anywhere in the Bible that we are told to pray to angels or the saints in Heaven. In fact, to be on the safe side, I would avoid speaking to the dead, per Leviticus

So those who walk the earth are more "alive" than those who rejoice in paradise in everlasting beatitude?

Who knew?

You speak of course, of being alive as we think of it in the flesh.

But we are not in the flesh. We speak of life in the Spirit. Those in paradise are fully alive in the Spirit. And dead to the flesh.

How many times in the New Testament alone do we hear of men conversing and talking with heavenly messengers, other than Almighty God? Numerous times. The angel Gabriel talking to Mary for one, Moses and Elijah appearing and talking to Jesus, Peter, James and John on the mount of the Transfiguration for another. There are many more.

It's preposterous to assert that those who walk the earth can intercede before God for another person, but those who actually enjoy the beatific vision and are constantly in God's presence, can not.

A complete nonsense.

LOL....that’s just what I thought.

Even though the saints are much more alive then any of us it’s better to pray for intercession thru a mere earth-bound person than one in Heaven...right?

And that’s all in the Bible right? I mean it says you can’t pray for saintly intercession right? Or is that just another Tradition of man?

So, you love Jesus more than Chuck Pierce? You see Jesus more than Chuck Pierce?

What exactly are you trying to get at here?

I'm not seeing any reason whatsoever to pay any attention to the ramblings of this soi disant "apostle". Go ahead and make this a caucus thread, if you want to. Until then, expect to hear stuff like this.
