Bravo? It also makes him one of the most charitable..but he giving it basically..to himself. I don’t think this is a great thing. whenever I see these over-the-top ornate Chuch’s with all the material trappings it gives me the willies. I’m not talking about big churches...but I just don’t think that’s what God has in mind. But what do I know..I’m a new Christian.

But what do I know..I’m a new Christian.

New Christians understand a great deal, they have not been tainted by people's legalism and judgments, but still have, and will hopefully will forever keep, their SoulFire burning. Do not doubt your insight.

A beautiful church or cathedral serves as a reflection of God’s glory on earth.

Thank you. It's been an amazing journey so far and I'm anxious to stay on the path. I've met incredible people and heard amazing, amazing sermons that have enabled me to keep my head up high during these difficult times.

Since I was born Jewish, it's been a bit difficult for me...but I have felt no connection to the Jewish religion, and the people, for a very long time. And that's a hard thing for me to say. But I've felt nothing but love and acceptance and warmth from the Christian community and I plan on standing with Christians for the rest of my life.

Fox newsman Roger Friedman seems to have a problem with Mel Gibson's contributions to this church property. Wonder why? He then rehashes everything he can dredge up about Gibson's past difficulties. Maybe Mr. Friedman should consider why Gibson is making these donations and understand that he is merely trying to save his soul.

Actually Gibson has been extremely generous with his money, even with the Catholic church which he and his father disagree with. He once visited a convent and left a large sum of money. It wasn’t the first time he has helped others.

Really? I thought the glory was in the souls of people that inhabit that space.

In American, we can worship in whatever way we believe(excluding immoral practices) and wherever we wish. Good on Mr. Gibson. It’s his right to spend his dime however and on whatever he wishes to.

Unlike the elite Communists in the media/Hollywood, Mr. Gibson is on the F list simply because he doesn’t worship at the altar of Cabala Scientology Gaia Mother/Father Bling Bling, lead by His Superficial Majesty O, with special consultant Deepak Chopra, and the YaYa Sisters. For them, Mr. Gibson has the audacity to think outside the box, so naturally, the WE attack him (DUI), and his family (dad’s a nazi lover).

Keep singin’, Roger. The choir’s listening.

I think Mel Gibson should press charges against Roger Friedman as a stalker. The guy has been after him ever since Mel dared to make The Passion of Christ. I can’t believe Fox News lets Friedman get away with this behavior.

Actually, some years back, Robert Novak, the columnist, was on the same path as you. Born Jewish, felt no connection to the Jewish religion, and became a Catholic. Don’t know which Christian religion you chose, but he was very happy with his choice. Now that I think about him, I wonder how his brain tumor situation is going. I hope they are able to help him. For that matter, I wonder how Ted Kennedy is doing also. Haven’t heard anything about either of them recently. I’m off on tangents now. Good luck with Christianity!

yes, Friedman is obsessed with Mel. In one of his columns he described how he drove up to Mel’s chapel to look around. He has a problem. The vengeance oozes out of him.
