First, in this country, freedom of speech means that anyone may express any view no matter how much anyone else disagrees with that view, or is offended by it.

Sure it does.

Try "homosexuality is fundamentally disordered" or "marriage is between one man and one woman" in a public setting or try saying a prayer out loud in a public school and you'll see how far your wet dream is from reality in this country.

We live under a secular humanist dictatorship which actively persecutes Christian morality and will do so increasingly as time passes. There are certain things which most definitely can not be said in public in the US in 2010.

Instead of fretting about the Holy Roman Empire which has about as much chance of returning as Babe Ruth has of suiting up for the Red Sox, you might want to give a thought to the coming marginalization and persecution of Christians in this country. That's the real issue.

This is a total non issue and a straw man.

To the author of the Declaration of Independence, meanwhile, Catholics represented a profound threat to the fledgling American republic.

“History furnishes no example of a priest-ridden people maintaining a free civil government,” Thomas Jefferson wrote. “In every country and in every age, the priest has been hostile to liberty.”

“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.
Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord,we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences. For we commend not ourselves again unto you, but give you occasion to glory on our behalf, that ye may have somewhat to answer them that glory in appearance, and not in heart. For whether we be be side ourselves, it is to God: or whether we be sober, it is for your cause. For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: And that He died for all, that they which live not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto Him which died for them, and rose again. Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we Him no more. Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to Himself by jesus Christ, and hath given us the ministry of reconciliation; To wit God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto Himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconcilation. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God. For He (God) hath made Him (Jesus Christ) to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.” (2 Corinthians 5:10-21)

Give me a Catholic monarch who faithfully believes in the absolute sovereignty of Jesus Christ instead of that pile of yahoos in DC any day.

Actually, give me ANY government which faithfully believes in the absolute sovereignty of Jesus Christ.

It's the "faithfully" part that's the difficulty...

"....the Church uses her efforts not only to enlighten the mind, but to direct by her precepts the life and conduct of each and all....and considers that for this purpose recourse should be had, in due measure and degree, to the intervention of the law and of State authority." - Pope Leo XIII, May 15, 1891

The most important point is to understand that when a Catholic talks about liberty or freedom, it is not individual liberty that is meant, not the freedom to live one's life as a responsible individual with the freedom to believe as one chooses, not the freedom to pursue happiness, not the freedom to produce and keep what one has produced as their property. What Catholicism means by freedom, is freedom to be a Catholic, in obedience to the dictates of Rome.

"Catholic civilization is the structuring of all human relations, of all human institutions, and of the State itself according to the doctrine of the Church." The other name for this is called "totalitarianism," the complete rule of every aspect of life.

All one has to do is read Ratzinger's "global authority" enclyclical to understand the truth of what you've written.

The counter Reformation never ended.

Nice website, too.

What a load of tripe! Now, why don’t you engage with what the Church officially teaches:

Restored Holy Roman Empire? Put me down for an earldom or at least a barony (or their continental equivalents). It doesn’t have to be big. Just so long as I’m an elector.

A worse dictatorship is in the process of stepping overtly on the global stage.

The added horror is that it appears likely that the UFO incidents that constituted Fatima as well as the weight and leadership of the Vatican will be placed behind & in support of the global dictatorship from hell.

This document hints of elements that could be in play in such an eventuality.

It is hideously horrific.

Folks do not realize how movements and pressures can be brought to bear along these lines.

The average person is moved more by memes, themes, images, symbols, emotions, idolized authorities placed higher than God etc. than by well thought out facts and realities—Biblical and otherwise.

Rotfl. You have to be a marxist plant with leaves, and it won’t work. Catholics and Evangelicals, inspite of you and yours, have a sense of humor and today, you’re it. I’d want to rethink getting off those meds, before trying to divide Christians who are in the same fox hole.

Is this Catholic dictatorship going to come about before or after the Jews take over the world?

And yes, for the irony-deficient, I am hinting pretty directly that this thread is on the same level as garden variety anti-Semitic conspiracy theories.

While a cursory reading of the OP leads me to think ti’s pretty much deranged, I also take comfort in the that fact that, if the prelates I know are any guide, if we Catholics mean to take over the world, you all have nothing to worry about.

If the writer thinks catholicism is promoting a dictatorship, I guess he missed the history of the Maryland Colony, founded by Catholics on the basis of religious freedom.

Of course, it appears the Catholics in the MD Colony missed the boat on the whole dictatorship thingy, and let other religions in as well (after all, religious freedom is religious freedom).

In the 1730s this led to the Protestant Reformation in Maryland, with numerous members of the clergy hunted down and killed, some protected only by sellling themselves into slavery and becoming property of the Manor Lord who bought them, making them untouchable under the prevailing English Common Law.

Facts are so inconvenient for those who would preach hatred.

I would suggest that all Christians have better things to do than attack their own while the Muslims are at the gate.
