Get a life.

Yes, Maam; we DO have a life, and we FREELY give up a goodly portion of it just to proclaim the world as MORMONism says it is!

"The Mormons didn’t want the attacks to be traced back to them, so after the unarmed emigrants had marched about a mile up the valley, all surrendering emigrant men and older boys were shot without warning. Then all women and children were shot. At least 120 individuals were massacred.

JTT, you really should change your tag name to: hide my head in a hole.

(Well, he should at least change it to "Justthefaithpromoting'truth'"...and then he should proceed to destroy all current/recent calendars that depict days where there Mormons misbehavin' badly...also that rear-view mirror is a "risky" thing to have around, too...better destroy that, too!)

“Indians continue to be hated in southern Utah today.”

Does that mean that in northern Utah they love the Indians?

Speaking of INDIANs.....

“I saw a striking contrast in the progress of the Indian people today ... they are fast becoming a white and delightsome people.... For years they have been growing delightsome, and they are now becoming white and delightsome, as they were promised.... The children in the home placement program in Utah are often lighter than their brothers and sisters in the hogans on the reservation.

At one meeting a father and mother and their sixteen-year-old daughter were present, the little member girl-sixteen-sitting between the dark father and mother, and it was evident she was several shades lighter than her parents—on the same reservation, in the same hogan, subject to the same sun and wind and weather.... These young members of the Church are changing to whiteness and to delightsomeness.

One white elder jokingly said that he and his companion were donating blood regularly to the hospital in the hope that the process might be accelerated.

(Improvement Era, December 1960, pp.922-23). (p. 209)

AH yeah

They were kept out of the sun...

one of my beautiful Cherokee granddaughters looks quite “white and delightsome” in the winter time...

In the summer she tans and looks more Indian...

her sister has a paler skin...

It's possible. (Who knows?) Could also be indifferent, which can be worse than hating.

“1857? Really? And this is somehow relevant to people and problems of 2011?Get a life.” Are you serious? Everything in American history is relevant to our own time. Aren’t you ever intrigued by events of the past? We understand our own place in the world by investigating and understanding the people and ideas that have come before us. Wow, you must be a very dull person indeed.

Well while you all are at it let’s not forget how many members of the southern mainstream religions segregation treated blacks and strung them up on trees!

It took a civil war and many years later (1964) to put an end to this!

No blacks ever terrorized or drove these mainstream folks out of their home in the dead of winter.

Two wrongs don't make a right but if you choose to continue to carry the torch at least put it in some perspective how few lost it and did evil deeds!
