Let's drop the "protestant" when differentiating from a Catholic.

I agree, I call all non-Catholic groups as non-Catholic, not Protestant. There are too many divergent beliefs among various non-Catholics for one to club them together under one umbrella term

No, not as denominational nor as a 'religion', rather, I believe what the Scriptures say regarding faith and believing

It’s because pretty much all non-Catholic denominations popped out of the Catholic church, or from a group that did.

Would the Baptists, Methodists, etc accept the various Eastern Orthodox churches as being just another non-Catholic denomination, or would they reject them as being too similar to the Catholic Church?

I don't understand what your objection is.

The OP is an article from the "Associated Baptist Press". Just judging from the name, they're probably not a Catholic organization.

They're the folks who used the word "Protestant". If you think their use of the term is inaccurate, why don't you write them a letter or send them an email?

So?? That is the beauty of America.. The right to worship god as we please.. Go to a different Church or start your own.. Heck I can start my own Religion..
