It has nothing to do with my feelings or yours. You’re a Protestant. No matter how you feel about that fact, that is the fact.
You just don't get it do you? There are those of us whose denomination didn't originate from within the Protestant movement. Some of our denominations can trace their history to before the Reformation and have only the very core basics in common with Protestants at all.
We're not Catholics or Orthodox or Protestants. We're just Christians, nothing more. I don't know why that irritates you guys so much, but if you're going to speak about us as if you know what we think, at least get our belief system correct.

No, actually I do get it. Apparently you don’t.
“There are those of us whose denomination didn’t originate from within the Protestant movement.”
Actually among Protestants that is logically impossible. All Protestants believe in Protestant doctrines, Protestant systems of sect governance, and so on. Every group you could name that is Protestant has its roots within the confines of the Protestant movement in some manner. No other possibility is logically possible.

No. One or perhaps two groups can trace their roots back before the Protestant Revolution. The Waldensians can trace their roots back to the 12th century, but are firmly within the Methodist camp today: http://www.chiesavaldese.org/eng/pages/activities/wald_method.php
Likewise, the Hussites date back to the 15th century, but are really just Protestants today in their theology and governance. After all, the modern Moravian Church generally accepts the Heidelburg Catechism and Luther’s Small Catechism so how can it not be Protestant? http://www.unitasfratrum.org/pages/ground_unity.html

You’re Protestants.
” We’re just Christians, nothing more.”
Protestants.
“I don’t know why that irritates you guys so much, but if you’re going to speak about us as if you know what we think, at least get our belief system correct.”
I do get it right. You’re Protestants. I am not irritated by the lack of rationality or understanding of reality expressed by Protestants. I expect it. Protestants are Protestants. That’s how it is.
