Well, Malichi Martin did predict that THIS Pope would be the false prophet in his book, Windswept House.

he also says the seven hilled city of Rome would be destroyed.

Well there is one instance (other than I’m assuming he specifically meant the Catholic religion) I can agree with a pope.

This is the most terrifying thing going on right now.

PS: Shimon Peres is not an Orthodox Jew, and the "United Religions Initiative" is not a "Jewish plot" (a lot of good it will do saying that, I'm sure).

The URI Charter was finally signed on June 26, 2000, during a six-day Summit in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, making the one-world church a reality.

I was there that day as an "undercover informant" for Lee Penn, who did a series of investigative reports and wrote the book on the URI. Frankly the meeting was a dud and very poorly attended.

That Cardinal Bergoglio had anything whatsoever to do with the URI is horrifying to contemplate.

FR Catholics won’t care and will defend this evil man regardless

The word "prejudice" comes from the Latin words "prae" (before) and "iudicare" (judge) meaning to judge someone before the fact.

In other words, they hold to Modernism (condemned by Pope St Pius X as heresy).

He will deceive even the very elect.

That's not quite what it says...

Mat_24:24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

“By disobedience, the Pope can separate himself from Christ despite the fact that he is head of the Church, for above all, the unity
of the Church is dependent upon its relationship with Christ. The Pope can separate himself from Christ either by disobeying the law of Christ, or by commanding something that is against the divine or natural law. By doing so, the Pope separates himself from the body of the Church because this body is itself linked to Christ by obedience. In this way, the Pope would, without doubt, fall into schism....
“He would do that if he did not observe that which the Universal Church observes in basing herself on the Tradition of the Apostles, or if he did not observe that which has been ordained for the whole world by the universal councils or by the authority of the Apostolic See. ESPECIALLY IS THIS TRUE WITH REGARD TO THE DIVINE LITURGY, as, for example, if he did not wish personally to follow the universal customs and rites of the Church.”

Cardinal Juan de Torquemada (Summa de Ecclesia 1489)

Proclaimed “Defender of the Faith” by Pope Eugene IV

If it were possible. Well, it looks as if it is possible, even without the signs and wonders. I’m assuming the “were” is not being used as the contrary-to-fact conditional but used in an older sense, to describe something one would wish not to be true.

Yes, and notice that Pope Pius XI includes those who support such views. Most Catholics support these views because they are sorely disconnected with/ignorant of pre-Vatican II theology.

ebbtide,

I’m confused by the “Update” in your title. Was Francis actually picked for this now?

• June 9, 2014: Pope Francis criticizes “fundamentalism” in Christianity, Judaism and Islam as violence: “A fundamentalist group, even if it doesn’t strike anyone, is violent. The mentality of fundamentalism is violence in the name of God.”[12]

They have to erase fundamental Jews, Christians and Muslims. Their words are violent? It won’t be the Jews or the Muslims who tolerate this nonsense. There is no such thing as a moderate Muslim. Israel won’t kill off orthodox Jews.

But American Orthodox Jews and Christians will be dead meat. Real Christians and Jews won’t say Allah is God and the US is transforming into a Nazi state that prefers Muslims. Real Christians and Jews won’t worship Mohammad or any other god. They are trying to erase the name of Jesus and real Christians won’t be doing that either. Our prayers and thought will be consider a violent crime? So be it, dopey popey.

Pope Francis’ religious indifferentism is the doctrinal nemesis of His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI and is in stark opposition to the Magisterium of the Church.

One example among many: Pope Pius VIII forcefully condemned religious indifferentism in the encyclical Traditi humilati nostrae:

“And this is the lethal system of religious indifferentism, which is repudiated by the light of natural reason itself. In this light we are warned that, among many religions which disagree with one another, when one is true, anther must necessarily be false, and we are further admonished that there can be no association with light and darkness. Against these repeaters of ancient errors, the people must be assured, Venerable Brethren, that the profession of the Catholic Faith is alone the true one, since the Apostle tells us that there is one Lord and one baptism. As Jerome says, the man who eats the Lamb outside of this house is profane, and the man who is not in the ark of Noah is going to perish in the deluge. Neither is there any other name apart form the Name of Jesus give to men by which we must be saved. He who believes will be saved, and he who shall not have believed will be condemned.”[9]

Can anyone even imagine Pope Francis speaking like this? (comments by ebb tide)

Remember H.H. Pope Benedict XVI lecture at Regensburg and his strong criticism of Islam.

Speaking about Islam, Benedict XVI referred to remarks from Emperor Manual II Paleologos of Byzantine (the Orthodox Christian empire which had its capital in what is now the city of Istanbul ) regarding the role of this religion.

"Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached.”[3] The emperor, after having expressed himself so forcefully, goes on to explain in detail the reasons why spreading the faith through violence is something unreasonable. Violence is incompatible with the nature of God and the nature of the soul. "God", he says, "is not pleased by blood - and not acting reasonably (σὺν λόγω) is contrary to God's nature. Faith is born of the soul, not the body. Whoever would lead someone to faith needs the ability to speak well and to reason properly, without violence and threats... To convince a reasonable soul, one does not need a strong arm, or weapons of any kind, or any other means of threatening a person with death...".

The so called “religion of peace” is:
