Let's take another look at this question. There are definitely two sides to the answer.

“As soon as the coin in the coffer rings, The soul from Purgatory springs.”

Sounds like a great scheme to shake down loved ones for donations.

I’ve been thinking about this topic a lot since NYer posted this testimony a few days ago:

http://testimony-polo.blogspot.com/2009/11/testimony-of-gloria-polo.html?m=1

Some powerful stuff there. I suspect it will impact me for the rest of my life. Everyone should read it, all of it. Everyone.

It’s so easy to fool ourselves into believing we are “all right” with God. He’s not subject to our own personal beliefs.

LOL! I’ve never heard that before.

Why do you repeat it? The article says it isn’t true.

“Catholic theology takes seriously the notion that “nothing unclean shall enter heaven.”

Truth. But...

“As David also termeth the blessedness of a man, to whom God reputeth justice without works:

Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered.

Blessed is the man to whom the Lord hath not imputed sin.”—Romans 4

“From this it is inferred that a less than cleansed soul, even if “covered,” remains a dirty soul and isn’t fit for heaven.”

Uhh...a train just flew off its tracks and many casualties have been reported.

Does God cut us some slack for suffering under Democrats and RINOS?

...

Good question. I thought this was purgatory.

The writing is pretty much on target. There is only one small point I disagree with and it is not material to the discussion on Purgatory.

Thanks for sharing this.

Nah, you don’t even need to make donations. Just wear the brown scapular, it’s like a “get out of purgatory free” card.

God would cut us slack even if we were one of them!!!

All beings are a creation of God and as such have that spark of Light within us. Short of denying the Holy Spirit which causes that flame within us to become bright, there is hope for everyone.

God seems to pick some of His biggest screw ups for the most important work. Look at Moses, Saul, Peter........

“2 Thessalonians 2:13, which declares that God chose us “to be saved through sanctification by the Spirit.” Sanctification is thus not an option, something that may or may not happen before one gets into heaven. It is an absolute requirement, as Hebrews 12:14 states that we must strive “for the holiness without which no one will see the Lord.”

That scripture says it all. It is 100% accurate. Nothing unclean can enter the Kingdom of Heaven.

Thankfully we have the Holy Spirit to help us or no one would make it.

I can’t remember where I read this but here goes: “Even if we did not know of a concept called Purgatory, God’s Mercy would demand it.”

Purgatory is not in the bible in the KJV or the original old testament in Hebrew or the Greek new testament. So its made up Cathloic BS, and not true doctrine. Feel sorry for people led astray that believe this.
