>>”I like to be good. I don’t like to have to ask for forgiveness. And I am good. I don’t do a lot of things that are bad. I try to do nothing that is bad.”

In my experience, I’ve found that Roman Catholics believe that you need to confess your sins to priest regularly and that any unconfessed sins must be absolved by a priest prior to your death. Methodists fear that one can lose their salvation, so regular confession is essential to retain salvation. Baptists believe that they can say a quick prayer and they are one saved, always saved. Presbyterians believe that God chooses you, gives you grace, and that all of your sins past and future are forgiven and forgotten “as far as the east is from the west”.

So, the bottom line here is that CNN is trying to force Trump to make a statement on faith that they can use to drive a wedge between him and some group of Christians.

We should consider that different Christians believe different things and that it is God’s free gift of Grace that saves us. Do you give a gift and then take it back because the recipient did not act the way you expected? That would be petty, wouldn’t it? Why does anything think that God is that petty?

Latest spin when Trump expels some silly statement is, “He was telling a joke.”

Maybe that could be retroactive?

I've never sinned.
I've got a friend in Jesus..."

Presbyterians say “Our Father...” during services.

Delusions of grandeur. I am more fearful with each passing day of a Trump presidency.

While it is true God will judge everyone, a person also reveals what's in their heart by what they say.
O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things. But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned. Matthew 12:34-37

Wow. Just wow. I can’t take eight more years of this type of narcissism.
