This guy is a joke and should have been defrocked years ago.

Maybe this dope and the fake pope could be defrocked together.
Pfleger is a wolf in sheeps clothing. A false teacher in the church and a communist. He is both an enemy of the cross and the Republic.

Francis is a wolf in sheeps clothing. A false teacher in the church and a communist. He is both an enemy of the cross and the Republic.
It was so informativeb, for me, that I ordered the DVD. Also, it made me wonder about the communists who were repoertedly swept into our American seminaries some time ago.

Did you order the DVD from EWTN online? I would like to purchase a copy.
My understanding is that it wasn’t just the American seminaries.
Yes, I did order from EWTN.
The rituals matter less than the exercise of the virtues that undergird them. However, the self-exalting nature of some of these might be one reason that the Catholic system does not catch on well. In particular grace is far underrated. The grace life for an evangelical is to by all means accept whatever grace the Lord proffers and then become a vessel that passes grace unto others. Whether or not this spells out privations at a particular time, an issue that is left within the Lord’s own control.
I’m a traditional Catholic, you are a Protestant, evangelical if you prefer. We are definitely not going to agree when it comes to the importance of ritual.
However, you should know that your view of the flexibility of ritual is the prevalent one held by most Catholics today. Pope Pius the tenth described it as one part of the errors of modernism.
The traditional mass is anything but self exalting. Its entire focus is on God and not man. The new mass I agree is more man centered.
For the Catholic teaching on grace, see the Baltimore catechism 3, lesson 9 for starters. The full teaching takes a lifetime (literally, :) ).
Protestants can have different beliefs in regards to what Grace is. So can individual catholics, but we don’t allow for private interpretation on this matter so you can tell who is catholic in their belief and who is in error.
Some protestants have a belief in grace which somewhat matches the Catholic virtue of Faith. Others describe grace in a way that would best match what a Catholic would describe as a consolation ( an interior movement of the soul in which the love of God is inflamed).
While we should use these consolations to follow God’s will, one has to be careful to not begin to love the consolation itself instead of God. At some point God may take away these spiritual consolations so that we can show our love to him for his sake alone (perfect Charity) and not for love of the consolation.
As you can see, even though Traditional Catholics and Protestants/Evangelicals may be speaking the same language, we are often using different dictionaries.
One can self-exalt about a ritual. It ends up being mouthed words approached with, at best, impotent wistfulness. Just like I’d tell my fellow evangelicals, beware, you can recite the bible backwards and forwards and still be no nearer to Jesus.
