Whosoever looks on a woman to lust after her has committed adultery...no adulterer shall inherit the kingdom of God...the Holy Bible

Non lesbian girls only club, gotcha.

Jesus threw down the hard line with those words. Most think that having sex outside of marriage is adultery, but with those words, Jesus said, nope, thinking lustful thoughts is adultery, too.

It blows most people away, even many Christians, who all think that sin happens only when we take action. Christ is saying our thoughts themselves can be sinful, too.

We sinners are blessed that He gave us an out by our acceptance of Him as our savior through His sacrifice.

Yeah, apparently Augustine didn’t make it either...

Those aren’t Pastor Bill’s words. They come from a Higher Authority. Anti-Christs here on the pro-God, pro-Family Free Republic do no service to their cause when they reveal their ignorance.

You obviously have no idea who Augustine of Hippo was...

Hmmm, should we worry about Augustine or should we obey what Jesus commands?

I never read Augustine. He is not the authority. You know who is.

Worshipping a lesser god there?

Augustine of Hippo was an early Christian theologian.

You might want to skim his works ‘The City of God’ and ‘Confessions’ before you display even more ignorance.

English translations are free online.

We are not talking about augie, but Jesus.

Does Jesus command you to read St Augustine?

You seem to be missing the point that Jesus was making; namely that no matter how mightily we physically adhere to the law, our very thoughts betray us, which points to our utter depravity and desperate need for the GIFT of salvation.

The last paragraph of my reply (which you may have missed) makes your point.

We are in strong agreement, my dear Brother in Christ.

Most Christians consider Augustine of Hippo (who you refer to as ‘Augie’) a saint.

He was writing at the time of the collapse of the Roman Empire and his own personal failings.

It’s quite a good read.

Or you can stay ignorant, it’s your choice.

My mistake, and I'm glad to hear it. I'll be sure to read more thoroughly before responding, next time.

Good post. Our Lord said that “that which comes from inside of a man defiles a man” — it all starts from the inside out.

What? And violate a sacred FR tradition of replying to an article title or first sentence without reading the whole thing?! Sacrilige!

Lol!

Just joking. :)

We’re okay with one another, Semaj!
