He was caught on a camera ‘positioned outside’ the bathroom.
Church spokesperson Suzanne Swift says there are no cameras inside the bathrooms at the church.

The security camera shows the entire daycare room and the bathroom is located in the back of the room. The bathroom door is split into upper and lower halves, and the upper half remains open when a child uses the bathroom, according to the lawsuit.

footage shows Hazlett took photos of the 3-year-old boy’s genitals after he followed the boy into the restroom and sexually abused the child for three minutes on Sept. 30, The suit states that Hazlett can be seen in the footage keeping a looking for approaching adults and looking toward the security camera.

If you all can afford cameras for the sanctuary, you ought to be able to afford cameras for the doors and hallways.

Anyone who works with children should be scrutinized. However, males are far more likely to commit sex crimes than women. That is fact.

Or it was part of a settlement agreement from a previous incident.

No, it is not. Sexual deviants are more often women.

Far more in this case is seven to nine out of every ten.
Leaving far to many female offenders to rely on such inadequate screening.

In years past westerners were able to delude themselves into believing that female predators were rare.

Cameras have ripped the veil.

There is a very young age group where apparently women are more likely, but yes, men are in general more sexually aggressive.

Only if the MegaChurch’s HQs are in Rome....

The US Protestant congregations pretty much leave the crime stuff to the lawful civil authorities. Cesar and Cesar’s, Govt ordained by God for man’s peace and security from war with one another- another guy mentions this in his writing on Natural Rights too, Locke or some body....;)

I saw this the other day: It seems civil law trumps church secrets - and it's about time .

For many centuries, the Catholic Church maintained that its clergy and religious (i.e. monks, nuns, brothers and sisters in religious orders) could not be tried in civil or criminal courts, but had to be dealt with by the Church itself. That continued until the Reformation, and even after it in some countries. The Church considered herself to be above most aspects of criminal and civil law. In some ways, it appears to still hold that belief - witness, for example, the refusal by many bishops to refer clergy child sex abuse cases to the civil authorities for prosecution.

Part of that mentality was, and still is, for the Church to have secret archives of material it considers particularly confidential for one reason or another. Members of the Church do not have access to that archive; even most priests are not permitted to view its contents. They're restricted to the bishop and assistants he designates to maintain the archive. Some of its contents are routine - personnel assessments, that sort of thing. Others are far more sensitive, such as details of accusations against clergy (whether proven or not), investigations, and so on.

..... (much more stuff)

Emphasis mine.

The writer's an guy who left the RC priesthood years ago over the handling of the pedophilia scandals.

Do you see the politically correct misandry in your choice of words?

P14 or P17?

303, 30/06 whatever it takes!

I have not problem with private organizations having agreements regarding contracts and the like, being resolved by internal codes and canons, but only to willing signatories. When it comes to anything outside of a clear interpersonal agreement, then it must be resolved by the civil authority. Any crime must be reported to the civil authority ( by law actually). Torts unresolved internally must be addressed in the civil courts. Otherwise we get sharia type unelected totalitarian impacts- like in Muslim countries, and it seems within certain other political organs.

Nope. Sorry, Some things are too risky, and having adult males working with preschool age children is asking for perverts to apply.
