These kinds of lawsuit claims are allowed, and all too common. As long as they are legal there is no reason for a damaged party not to make them and then negotiate from there.
But should these type of “abusive” claims be allowed in a lawsuit at all?
Maybe not. And perhaps we will soon see an editorial in the Washington Post demanding Democrats in Congress pass new laws banning trial lawyers from asking for too much money.
How did the law and the practice of it get so royally screwed up?

Bezos is having a bad few weeks. First his reputation is in shatters because of his divorce, then stupid Libs in NYC chase him out of town on a rail, and now the WaPo gets sued by Lin Wood.

Sullivan should not apply here. The boy was not a public figure at the time he was attacked.
The towel-head Muslim wrote,

The towel-head later removed the offensive fabricated tweet after a lawyer said it had defamed the boys.
This is libel. Retract, or get sued,” Las Vegas attorney Robert Barnes tweeted.
Omar’s rape-related claim apparently was based on a Twitter video clip posted by lawyer and Playboy writer Amee Vanderpool, who later admitted she didn’t “know if this boy attends Covington.”

Sue the hell out of them, take control of it, FIRE every last person working there and tear down the building and turn it into a garbage dump!

If she said this while on the floor of Congress she is home free. Otherwise, she can be held accountable.
