Another vertical-walled canyon that was carved rapidly by water in modern times is Burlingame Canyon, in southeast Washington. It is about 30 m (100 ft) deep (figure 3), and was formed in six days in March 1926 by the diversion of water from an irrigation ditch down a side channel.9

Yet again, this is NOT ‘news/activism’.
I am a Christian, but having multiple STEM degrees, I really wish these clowns would quit embarrassing me.
Need a category called “Nonsense”
I’m a Christian, too, and I agree. I was on the receiving end of YEC wrath recently for saying the Behemoth in Job isn’t a dinosaur.
The weird part is, despite all the calling my salvation into question, no one actually proved me wrong.
I think I read somewhere that the Grand Canyon was likely formed when a rather large inland sea suddenly drained through it. And we also know from Mount St. Helens that large canyons can form literally overnight.
All of which being true, or even plausible in theory, does nothing to prove Young Earth Creationism to be true.
It’s a case of using good evidence to illustrate an absurd theory.
I clicked “Culture/Society”
and
“Philosopy”
AND it’s a current release from CMI.
It’s appropriate.
It didn't cover the entire earth. It was local and confined
to the Middle East/Asia region.
“...uniformitarian1 theories about valley and canyon formation are not built on observational science...”
I guess all that silt that builds up behind dams just gets there by magic.
Every region of the planet has a flood narrative as part of their history.
It was a worldwide flood as recorded in God's Word.
When the faithful rail against science it’s a pretty good sign of shaky faith.
Scientific knowledge no more disproves God’s existence than faith disproves the findings of science.
Atheistic scientists and many creationist types have more in common than they would care to admit. They’re both insecure in what they claim they believe.
It’s amazing how may so-called Christians don’t believe the bible. The geologic evidence is overwhelming that the major land masses we inhabit today were all formed by catastrophism- the Flood being the best explanation.
There is a sand deposit in the middle of the Gulf of Mexico under 5000 feet of water that is the largest sand deposit in the world. It did not reach that location or that depth over millions of years. That is physically impossible - it was laid down in one massive event and has sat there for a very long time. The sand is the remains of enormous erosion that cause rock to become gravel and then sand. Only massive churning and grinding could have created such a thing.
The Colorado river has no delta. NONE. The erosion from that event was so violent that the silt, or erosion created extended far out to sea.
SO you can think that tiny river carved the canyon and it’s dry feeder canyons, but common sense alone proves that it could not.
I don’t know how old the earth is, but the evidence of the flood is in every rock strata on earth. Animals fossilized en masse in one place, covered immediately and violently. And the same strata covers entire hemispheres.
I see the Mississippi river deposit silt each year. And some years entire islands, or new land is created in a matter of weeks. Water is the best explanation for the land masses we now have as nothing else really makes sense. There isn’t enough rain in the Western US to create the land masses that exist. Only massive erosive flooding can do that.

daniel1212 proved you wrong.
You only think that because you agree with him (confirmation bias).
Why ignore the ‘flood’ described in Genesis 1:2?
No, I think it because you simply made a claim and attempted to prove it.
daniel1212 demonstrated you failed to support your theory.
Therefore, it remains simply your assertion and personal opinion.
What theological problem does a flood in Genesis 1:2 solve?
I like Torah first, universally connected (and hence I believe divinely inspired) mathematics, physics described therefrom connected directly to chemistry and geology, lending to theoretical frameworks of DNA/RNA and molecular biologic origins.
These exist in different timeframes from the Creation Event to the present.
