Are we convinced, cleansed, consecrated, clothed, committed and compliant in our lives?

“Are we convinced, cleansed, consecrated, clothed, committed and compliant in our lives?”

Have you gutted the ranks of your priests, bishops, and cardinals of the plague of homosexuality and child sexual abuse??

Until then, it is just so much distraction.

One's own conversion and faithfulness are never "just a distraction". They are always the most important thing, in fact, they are the only thing that really matters. At your death, Christ will ask about your sins, about your fidelity, about your prayer, about your love for him.

Not anyone else's.

I guess for a Roman Catholic that is true.

For a saved Christian, that has been taken care of at the cross.

I am relieved to know the corrupt priesthood, bishops and cardinals that lead the Roman church won't be a problem.

Some good news there!

Please do the same with your own clergy before you throw stones at Catholic clergy.

“Please do the same with your own clergy before you throw stones at Catholic clergy.”

Done.

We do not allow gay clergy. Period.

We do not allow anyone involved in sexual abuse or immorality to be on staff. Period.

Your turn.

Yours are all perfect, LOL! No one immoral is on the staff!

He has a church with no clergy and no members, apparently.

Isn't the Lord Jesus Christ sufficient enough...?

The uncorrupted one...?

Considered the history of the One Holy Apostolic Mother "Church"

I'd rather be an orphan...

“Yours are all perfect, LOL! No one immoral is on the staff!”

Logical fallacy.

If they act immorally, they are fired... as Scripture teaches.

Why doesn’t your church obey Scripture??

Why does your church hide the wrongdoing, blame the victims, and just protect their assets instead??

Can you provide even one Scripture reference for a holy mother church? The church h is. of my mother nor is Mary. I am told by Scripture God is my Father. There is no mention of a mother. none.

4 Don’t answer the foolish arguments of fools, or you will become as foolish as they are. from Proverbs

I’m going to obey the bible! Have a great day, hopefully without attacking any more Christians.

Second logical fallacy - an ad hominem attack fallacy.

Don’t be such a niggler. First, go and lecture the LCMS for using the same phrase, then you can come back and carp.

    Holy Mother Church

Don’t forget mom… or Mother Church!

There are more examples, but you should get the idea.

I have not heard the the term Holy mother church used in the LCMS in the last 57 years so it is not common today. I will ask again - can you provide even one scriptural reference to the mother church?

Well, now you’ve seen it used in 2019 in the two examples I linked, once by an LCMS pastor and once by an LCMS district president.

Remove the plank from your eye and maybe you could see better.

I would challenge any pastor with the same request - where is that in scripture
