Hugh Ross also told me face to face that he didn't believe that God is capable of building a literal New Jerusalem - in his words, because the gravitational forces would tear it apart.

True story.

I know Whom I believe,

and it ain't Hugh Ross.

It covered the entire earth because Trump was a climate denier and the oceans kept rising.

The scripture is clear that the entire earth was covered with water to a height above the mountains (that is, above the mountains in those days):

"He set the earth on its foundations, so that it should never be moved. You covered it with the deep as with a garment; the waters stood above the mountains. At your rebuke they fled; at the sound of your thunder they took to flight. The mountains rose, the valleys sank down to the place that you appointed for them. You set a boundary that they may not pass, so that they might not again cover the earth." -- Ps 104:5-9 ESV

The earth was divided later, in the days of Peleg:

"And unto Eber were born two sons: the name of one was Peleg; for in his days was the earth divided; and his brother's name was Joktan." -- Gen 10:25 KJV

That occurred after the nations were scattered:

"Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech. So the Lord scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city." -- Gen 11:7-8 KJV

That explains why people are found on every continent: they were first scattered, and then the earth was divided into continents.

Perhaps this passage applies to those who reject the plain reading of the text – who try to squeeze their worldview out of the text:

"Nevertheless among the chief rulers also many believed on him; but because of the Pharisees they did not confess him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue: For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God." -- John 12:42-43 KJV

There is evidence of a meteor strike in what we now call the western India Ocen. The strike came from the East and gouged going westward. Such a strike would send a tidal wave westward over even into Trukey. It would also likely release a huge amount of mantle held water, to raise the ocean levels even 300 feet. An entire ancient city is under 12000 feet of ocean off the western coast of Cuba. Does that area lay opposite the impact site in the western India Ocean?

>>”A flood that would cover the entire planet past the top of Mt. Everest for over a month would not have any life on it today like it does.”

It is most likely Mount Everest didn’t exist at that time. It is believed that the Himalayas were formed when the Indian tectonic plate crashed into the Asian plate.

In any case, there are many marine fossils (sea shells) buried in the sedimentary rock at the top of Everest, and in other high mountain ranges, world-wide.

...and there were giants in the land and also afterward...”

When asked, the reply included ...

“...as it was in the days of Noah so shall it be...”

The coming deception will be so strong that “...if it were possible (and it’s not) the very elect would be deceived...”

It did.

The fossils are far older than anytime this flood was supposed have taken place.

“If not “the whole earth,” how does the author explain evidence of the highest places on Earth at one time supporting sea life? (fossil record)”

The period of the flood was not long enough to establish sea life in mountainous areas. God's creation includes the Earth's ability to warp former ocean floors into mountain peaks.

You are assuming the earth is older than the Biblical chronology, which places the earth between 6,000 years old (Hebrew manuscripts) and 7500 years old (Greek manuscripts).

American Indians had stories of a great flood handed down in their oral history.

Submerged over 700 meters (2300 feet) underwater, the submerged Cuban city is thought to have been built originally built at a higher altitude and subsequently sunk to its present depth through tectonic activity—but this hypothesis has not stood up to the scrutiny of the experts. How can the existence of this underwater city at this great depth be reconciled with the well-established consensus that the sea level never dropped so low?

"An entire ancient city is under 12000 feet of ocean off the western coast of Cuba."

2300 is a lot more believable than 12,000.

But then there's that "well-established consensus" again, which may be as much a fake as global warming.

The earth is not 7000-6000 years old.

So no.

I generally agree with Dr. Ross on this one, with one major contention: the timing. He places the flood at 30 thousand years ago, which I think is far off. I personally put it at about 5 thousand years ago, though some other experts have proposed a thirteen thousand year-ago date, at the end of the Ice Age. I’m open to that.

As far as when the flood occurred, the best I could come up with is approx. 967 BC, or about 2,948 years ago.

If the flood destroyed all men except for Noah's family (total of 8), how could we possibly have 7.7 billion people on the planet today?

Hugh Ross - a wolf in sheep’s clothing (IMO)
He subscribes to evolution and old earth. To my knowledge he has never properly addressed how death entered the world. What I mean is that Scripture states that death entered the world because of Adam’s sin.
The guy thinks “science” rules over the Word of God.

I have heard Hugh argue this a dozen times, and in restating you have omitted his central qualifier: "under God's current laws of physics." He contends repeatedly that the new heaven and new earth will be without gravity and electromagnetism (as is obvious in Revelation 21 & 22), because God will no longer need them to help conquer evil. Thus, without gravity Hugh Ross predicts God's New Jerusalem will do just fine. See you there!
