1 Thessalonians 5:3 is talking about the peace of the Julio Claudian dynasty. Paul wrote that in the 50s AD, during Claudius or Nero’s reign.

Did you miss the part of Matthew 24 when Christ was asked was would be the signs of His return? And did you miss the part that Christ told the uppity religious leaders playing church in His day ... destroy this Temple and it will be rebuilt in 3 days??? And did you also miss the part in the book of Revelation that John was taken in the ‘spirit’ to the Lord’s Day... Peter subscribers really ought to know that Peter said that one day with the Lord is as a thousand years ... and a thousand years is as one day with the Lord ... The ‘Lord’s day’ does not begin until the return of Christ, after the majority of the inhabitants on this earth bend a knee to Baal.

Preterist interpretation believe that most of the events described in Revelation occurred in the first century, however some of the prophesies have not yet been fulfilled (literal Second Coming of Christ to earth, the resurrection, and future judgement).

I do not understand, given all that is Written, why any would 'believe' in a literal resurrection ... Flesh returns to the dust from which it came, and the 'soul/spirit intellect', 'breath of life' returns to the Maker that sent it... What is to be resurrected ... 'Lazarus and the rich man were separated by a 'gulf' and both of their flesh bodies returned to the dust. Christ's flesh was transfigured .. meaning NO flesh remains were left to be found.
