But haven’t the MEMBERS of an organization ALREADY been taxed aplenty?

Utah is the closest red state to me unless Arizona is still considered red.

Too bad it's west of MY state - Indiana - who was FIRST to go for Trump with only 1% being reported by NBC on election night!

Nonetheless, I would never live anywhere in Utah—and that’s not because of the cold weather or the lack of Italian restaurants.

Oh I would!

Love the landscape and tolerate the people.

As have those members of for-profit social organizations.

As a Latter-day Saint, I voluntarily give 10% of my income to my church because I believe what God commanded in Malachi 3:8-11.

While this is true; for a JEW; who is bound by the Old Testament...

As a Christian, I voluntarily give a percentage of my income to my church because I believe what Paul has written in the New Testament; namely...

2 Corinthians 9:6-7 ESV

6 The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.
7 Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

We give voluntarily. There’s no “requirement.”

Then you probably consider yourself 'worthy' to enter the temple; correct?

Elsie and others have learned not to play word games with me because it does not work.

Actually; what I've learned is that that anything I say can be used against me (just like in a court of law) but anything thing I quote from authentic LDS sources tend to get; shall we say; slightly less attention.

Question thirteen?

Now I’ll have to do some recent research.

I thought that promise was to the JEWS; His chosen people.

Lookit, when you want to know what someone believes - ASK THEM!

And when you want to know what a religion teaches; read it's publications.

BTW, you can drop all the "lying" "bigot" "false witness stuff".

I think I read something about 'abusive language' upthread.

Yes. My father used to curse that people deserve the kind of politicians they vote for. Utah gets Romney. So they must deserve him. So be it. But the problem is that his big idiot mouth and his voting in the US senate curses the all the rest of Americans, too.

Speaking of cursing...

You have hit on an issue close to my heart. You can count on the fingers of one hand the candidates for public office who are aware of and use the idea of their Statewide or Nationwide impact on all things political in their campaign.

The idea that as an elected official I am only required to listen to those voters in my district is a fallacy that deserves attention. As an elected official you are voting on issues that have far reaching impact either statewide or nationwide depending on the office. In my opinion, that fact should filter down to the office holder as a campaign issue, and to the voters as well.

To some it might be a small point, and the impact is really not quantifiable, but the principle is a valid one. The office holder is still going to vote his or her mind on the issue which is why they were hired in the first place.

All that brings us full circle back to the cursing of just desserts.

All that, and a home page to boot. I’m impressed.

definitely! yes indeed
politicians should consider their impacts on state or nation not only their direct constituents

but alas, so many politicians don’t give a dammn about even their own constituents, they only care how much money they can milk through corrupt dealings in office

this is why they spend tens of millions (usually OPM anyway) getting jobs that only pay 175ooo, their corruption in office can net them hundreds of millions if they play it cleverly

2. God’s truth in Scripture contradicts the heresy of mormonism.

That is more laughable than even you are able to realize.

We could begin with the general doctrinal confusion within the so called Christian community, and Christian Church which is nothing more than a conglomeration of thousands of Bible believing denominations probably begun post Reformation, that want to call themselves in toto the Christian Church of Confusion.

That said, we both need to remind ourselves that when they come they are coming for all Christians including members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints who will fight for your religious freedom just as much as we hope you are willing to fight for ours, and if not we would still make the Christian effort.

So let’s agree to disagree and stop with the name calling, cult card pulling and general bigotry exhibited against all religions you and the FR cabal tend to disagree with.

Please cite the Bible verse for baptism for the dead?

The fact you appear not to know there is one is sufficient.
