So the Protestant desire to rid Catholicism and the Mass of the difficult idea of “sacrifice” (both that of Christ and of Christians) has some bearing on the question of who desired the transition to the Paschal Mystery theology.

Speaking of questioning God, it was Bergoglio who claimed the Blessed Mother despaired and questioned God during her Son's Passion.

I understand what your are saying and I was upset when JP2 kissed the Koran. However, I make a distinction betwee JP 2’s non magisterial blunder and the words of a valid Ecumenical Council.

It seems that indeed the Muslims do intend to worship the one true God Catholics worship, but their theology is very flawed. That may be remedied with time.

The fact is obvious that their belief that God is changeable and even capricious has devastating effects spewing forth from it.

But, we know that intent e.g good will, no matter the error, is pleasing to God.
