Used to be all the pictures of israeli’s in public, at the market, taking kids to school, that they all had military rifles slung over a shoulder. What caused them to start trusting their natural enemies enough that they just disarmed themselves and pretty well painted targets on themselves?
It was just announced less than a month ago that Biden was giving Iran some money for hostages. I'm not excusing that, however, this operation, if it's true that 5,000 missiles were launched in less than a day, wasn't dependent on that in the least.

They would have clearly known something was going on, but, weren't prepared to preemptively attack as a precaution. Yes, it needs explanation, but the focus should remain on Hamas, and their main allies, Iran and Russia, as the responsible parties. They certainly aren't apologizing, nor will they.

Analysis is just coming out, but from some I've seen, the anti-tank drones that were used are very similar to the one's Russia is using in Ukraine, and aren't something many armies have in their arsenal, at all. Guess we'll see if that's true soon enough.
