If encouraging the Brethren that Jesus is coming soon is bothersome to you, then you might want to check your brand of belief at the door rather than muddling up the Hope of others.

It doesn't bother me that Jesus is coming. What bothers me is those who raise false hopes. "No, we don't have to fight evil in the world. Just pray about it. We're all about to get Raptured anyway, so it doesn't matter."

But an interesting tidbit I picked up is;
From Adam to Abraham was 2 thousand yrs.
Abraham to Jesus 2 thousand and 2 thousand to the present adds up to 6 thousand.

That Fascinated me.

It should fascinate lots of people if they desire to be ready for His return. Time is our friend if used well to come unto Christ and repent of what ails us.

Jerusalem remained under Gentile occupation for 1,897 years — until June 7, 1967, when Israel won the city back during the Six-Day War.

That is false

1. Jerusalem was completely destroyed in 70 AD leaving only one wall for the temple mount foundation (not the foundation for the temple, but for the base on which the temple was built further interior). Current "Jerusalem" is aelia capitolina, built by Hadrian in 130 AD
   
   
2. The brief Jewish political entity ("kingdom"?) under Simon Bar Kochkba ruled "Jerusalem" from 130 to 132 AD
   
   
3. In 614 AD, the Sassanid Persians with the help of Jews took over "Jerusalem" and handed it to the Jews to self rule. This was again brief until Emperor Heraclius came back
