I thank your dad and your uncle for their service.

This F-4C aircraft, serial number 63-7693, was manufactured by McDonnell Aircraft, St. Louis, Missouri, and delivered to the USAF on 1 Feb 1965. It has served with 8th TFW, 479th TFW, 431st TFS all at George AFB between 1965-1967; 8th TFW at Ubon, RTAFB, Thailand, in 1967; 366th TFW, Da Nang AB, South Vietnam, 1967; 58th Tactical Fighter Training Wing, Luke AFB, AZ, in 1971; 1633rd TASG, Ontario AP, in 1982. This is one of the F-4's flown by the late Capt Dean Paul Martin, USAF Reserves, who was killed in the crash of an F-4. He was the son of famed entertainer Dean Martin.

The May 1996 Proceedings has the story of the Joint Chiefs pleading with LBJ, "The Day It Became The Longest War."

Once upon a time it was a burning offense to suggest the earth moved around the sun.

Once upon a time the Supreme Court revealed its imbicility with its Dred Scott decision.

JFK signed NSAM 263 to remove our advisors September 1963.

LBJ rescinded it with NSAM 273 November 26, 1963, the Tuesday following the Monday funeral, the first business day after the assassination.

Nixon inherited the war LBJ started over JFK's objections, over "my dead body" literally.

And LBJ did not run for a second term because he had done such a monumentally horrible job of the war.

Nixon had a good thing going with the bombing. He should have kept it up.

How much did Howard Baker contribute to the fall of South Vietnam? Sam Ervin? Hillary Rodham?
