I was thinking the same thing, but maybe not the same as others. The All Volunteer force has been a smashing -- some might even say shock and awe -- success.
Women in the military have done extremely well in support roles. As with men, it ends up being an individual call. Two different women, one a senior intelligence officer that had a meteoric rise to star rank and the other who is now the new commander of the Intelligence Center, were like night and day according to the troops.
The business about the beret, well...most senior NCOs I know saluted smartly and accepted the change. None of them liked it.
And so it goes!

Morning feather, SAM was my wake up call! I'm having a great time! The weather is great here, a nice break from Ohio's hot and humid weather.
To: armymarinemom
That is a beautiful graphic, thank you.
To: GailA
Thank you Gail. That's nice.

Hey jinxy, I'm on Ohio time, I was up at 3 a.m. Oregon time. lol. Of course I went right back to sleep. Up and ready to go as soon as SAM called.
I think I can stay on Oregon time now. Not too tired.
To: bentfeather
I drag him out to Starbucks in the morning. lol. But then he does make coffee when we get to his home. ;)

Morning Darksheare.

My sis-in-law visits from Texas and has the same time 'problem' for a day or so. I'm so glad you're on Oregon time and are having the time of your life.
I think, if it wasn't for the job and family here in the sunny southwest, Oregon would be a good place to settle.

Good grief, it's only a little before 7AM, you expect her to be up already? LOL! When I called she was up and waiting, of course the fact that she left her lighter at my place might have had something to do with that.
I managed to lose her at the local Fred Meyer's this morning when we went to get donuts. Finally found her wandering around the checkouts and then caused all kinds of problems at the auto checkout when we managed to ring up 60 dollars in donuts.
Great start to the day Huh?

We seelted for a drive to the overlook near my house, does that count?
The mountain climbing will be later this week, we're gonna stop at Laurel Hill to see where the wagons crossed the cascades, that has some pretty good uphill hiking involved.

Yep, I think the all volunteer Army is working out. The beret for all the troops sucks IMHO. It should be something you earn.

Hi everyone.
I'm glad Sam is treating you well, Snippy. He is a great guy! Sam, have you told her that I'll be going to visit you this fall? :-)
