they’re Third Party members, but I assume you’re not, right?

No, I'm not a third party person, but Sarah is still talking in many generalities, and I don't think anyone knows yet where she stands on many issues. The majority of conservatives and Republicans are probably waiting to see who qualifies to run and what their platforms will be. Depending on what does or doesn't happen before the end of this Congress, and how many seats the Republicans pick up, things could look very different in 2011 from the way they look now.

McCain's daughter is not relevant to whether Sarah is a John McCain Republican, or not. Sarah's position on a broad range of issues will determine that.

What office is Governor Sarah Palin currently running for? She hasn’t declared for the Republican nomination for the presidency as far as I know. If she does, I’ll do everything I can to help her, including my oft stated goal of raising $2 million dollars for her campaign. I worked for President Ronald Reagan, and I see some of the same qualities in Gov. Palin, such as charisma, an affinity for the common people, good sense, family values, pro-defense, etc.

The Palin supporters at FR are entirely too sensitive to anyone who does not heap the same gushing praise on her that they do. Many are taking a wait and see attitude to see who declares and what their platforms will be. She consistently polls in the low 20s, so she'll have to pick up more support to win the nomination. Nothing to do but wait until a few months into 2011 to see who is running.

"She consistently polls in the low 20s, so she'll have to pick up more support to win the nomination."

She's polling in the high 70's among Republicans, which is presumably the people that'll vote in the GOP primaries.

She's polling in the low 20s in the presidential preference polls, when polled with Romney, Huckabee, etc.

That’s a multiple choice straw poll. Many times the 20’s is a winner in those. Example: http://gantdaily.com/2010/08/16/romney-palin-neck-and-neck-among-potential-gop-white-house-contenders/

Romney, Huckabee and Palin all poll in the low 20s normally. All I said was she needs to gain supporters if she has a chance to win. The eventual winner in these crowded field primaries will often win early primaries with around 30%. McCain won on the last Super Tuesday with little more than 33% of the total votes cast through ST.
