Extremely sad that “Market Watch” doesn’t understand that it’s headline (”9 Billion in ASSETS”) contradicts its article (”NET WORTH of $9 billion”). Not even close to being the same thing.
It’s not Market watch outfit saying it, it is just one writer with his article. There won’t be enough time for Market Watch organization to analyze every word in a fast moving story.
And how exactly is this a "fast moving story"???
Fast moving in the sense it had to be published soon after Trump announcement. And I guarantee you no organization is capable of vetting every story published on the same day as the news occurs.
REALLY??
Trump said in his speech today there will be no delays in filing his full financials with the govt. He will have everything in on time.
I can understand your consternation over the equation,
Assets - liabilities = net worth.
But since the articles were published minutes after Trump announcement, it is easy to overlook obvious errors. DO not worry, not even 1% of those who read the article will understand the difference or care.
People are so sick to death of inside-the-Beltway status-quo sell-out-America-for-a-buck types that the outsiders hold far more appeal that political pundits might want to admit.
Would you like to put money on that? Will never happen.
I can only go by what Trump says. Today he said there will be no delays in filing his financials. Unless he fails to do it I am taking him at his word.
But what evidence is their you can take him at his word when he will say whatever is convenient. Remember his promise he had some huge announcement about what Obama’s Birth certificate? Remember promising to run in 2012? So I would say there is every reason not to believe what he says. Do we really need a Kardashian-style reality TV president?
Well who else has shown their financials yet? Why pick on Trump? If Trump’s net worth is $1 billion that puts him way ahead of the average bear. If its $8 billion even more. I’m not that worried about Trump’s finances. If he can self fund his own campaign he can’t be in too bad of shape.
If Trump does not come through with his promise to file financials within 30 days or thereabouts, then we will know for sure. Until then I am willing to go along, same as GG2.
I have watched Trump for many years. Especially interesting to me was 1 hour long video of his meeting with managers of his resorts. Most of those resorts are golf resorts, so I am naturally interested and I think I found that show on Golf Channel. Trump was never belligerent to his subordinates. He was masterful in pumping them up to achieve the best results possible.
I have heard Trump many times on Greta’s TV show. He has repeatedly said, he is living the most magnificent life he ever wanted. So, I can understand why he never jumped in before. He does not need the scrutiny and headaches of a campaign.
However my gut feeling is, when one reaches a certain age, life of luxury ceases to be the focal point. May be he sees the destruction of economy and national debt, and he wants to do something. May be he is now willing to give up the super luxurious life and do something patriotic. Only time will tell. We will know soon enough, like in a couple of months. In the meanwhile I hate denigrating any candidate who is talking positive things.
If Trump really will not take donations from rich donors and lobbyist, to me that is a very positive thing.
I don’t know when the deadline to file is. I only know Trump said he would do so with no delays. I’m unsure if any other candidate has filed theirs yet. If so they are not waving a summary of it for everyone to see. I’m taking the guy at his word until I see different.
Declared Candidates have 30 days to file, but can get 2 extensions of 45 days each.
