For comparison, the following link is to a 2000 APOD with an IR picture of Neptune from the Keck.
http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/ap000218.html Hubble is still a little better, but Keck with Adaptive Optics is comparable (and 10 % of the cost).

When was the official pronunciation changed from "youranus" to "urineous"? Im not sure, but I think it was long before the pronunciation of Niger was changed from "NIE-ger" to Nee-JHER".
