Did they all die at the same time? It might be an ancient mass grave for epidemic victims.

"Did they all die at the same time? It might be an ancient mass grave for epidemic victims.""Hummel and team have found four generations so far and expect to find a fifth by the time they complete their analysis. "

The people who did this study, need to realize that there are a lot of just regular people who really know enough to poke holes in their PC garbage.
Maybe you should post the link to BOG PEOPLE.Maybe there are people here who don't know about them.

Nokidding........this revisionist,PC,junk science is worthless.

And best of all, we regular people control the checkbook. Thanks Blam for posting that "bog people" link. When I get home I'll try to post a link to that old book by P.V. Glob (surely one of the all-time classic author names).

The only reason humans would be "required" sacrifices would be in cultish controlled societies where certain individuals were a threat to the reigning shamin/guru/political/cult leader.
Heathens were more respectfull of human life than history gives them credit.

Yes,doesn't he have a GREAT last name? It's so Dickensian.
But since you enjoyed " THE BOG PEOPLE",by P.V.Glob,you might want to read "THE LIFE AND DEATH OF A DRUID PRINCE",by Ann Ross and "THE BOG MAN",by Don Brothwell (who also has a wonderful last name for an author).
To: sarasmom
And WHAT threat, were the football players to the kings of the Astec?
To: nopardons
I love the Brothwells' book on ancient cuisine. First time I saw that, I said, "oh, c'mon". ;')

Ahhhhhhhhh...a kindred spirit, who also reads some pretty interesting books, ignored by the general public.:-)
Yes,Brothwell writes some great books.
Want to talk about some other books about food, while we're at it?
To: nopardons
Alas, I haven't got that Brothwell title. I do love food though. :') Not too sure I could take liquamen... I loved the food discussions in the following title though, particularly the revelation about pork...

Rather than high-jack this thread,I'll make a list of some other books I think you'd like and we can do this in FREEPmail, unless you want to start a new thread. :-)

"Thought is pretty rare even today." Nope, it is performed every day in the USA legally, in the name of "FREE CHOICE."

I was going to say that I do not understand your comment, but in a rare act of
thought I reasoned that you meant that
human sacrifice was not rare.
In fact one might say, reversing the title, that "Thought is rarer than human sacrifice."
