I know NYC is one of the bastions of liberalism, don't get me wrong... but I would not wish this event on anyone... it will be one of the ugliest things in modern times if this happens.
The 20,000 dead in asia will be nothing.... you are looking at a death toll that will be measured most likely in the hundreds of thousands if not MILLION or more.
Keep in mind, just because there are large numbers of liberals there, there are also a good number of Conservatives as well.
Ahh...let it happen, I've got a speed bump called the Smokeys between me and the Atlantic. Besides, I'm more concerned about the New Madrid fault.
New York hit by this would wipe out the ecomony in this country and many others....
Whether NY is the liberal mecca or not is not the central point, the fact is that it is the home of major market trading i, and it could send our country into an economic collapse if a watershed event, so to speak, occurred. V's wife.
I live within 1000 ft. of the ocean. Geesh, I hope this doesn't raise my taxes.... if the others get wiped out that is.
Oh there is no doubt of the short term economic impact... however economics are always fluid... Human life is not replaceable.
I don't believe a land slide that occurs over several minutes would have much more than a local effect.
An earthquake releases energy in less then a millisecond.
Yes. And New York, Washington and Pennsylvania, all blue states, are where the September 11 hijackers struck. Would you support Osama bin Laden because he killed 3000 blue-staters?
I doubt it, but everybody's insurance rates would go up.
If killing New Yorkers is something you like, do not wait for this landslide; join Al Qaeda today as this is their business. Troll.
Oooookay. . .how about the Gulf of Mexico?
You see, I used to live in Marin County, CA; inland. We had a massive tidal surge alongside floodings. My #(*^% Fiat was in for repairs (yet again) at Mellow Motors of Greenbrae. Mellow Motors was located right near a delta waterway. Sure enough, after the worst was over, I went out with waders and a camera. Had to hop a fence (in waders!!), and there sat my Fiat in the roadway, driver's door open.... in 4 feet of salt water. The waters rose so fast, the mechanics tried getting the cars out -- but couldn't outpace the surge.
Of course, only foreign cars were being worked on ... Bentleys, Beamers, Volvos (a fitting and righteous death for Volvos, IMHO)... but my heart broke seeing two Rolls' submerged... Salt water -- no repair, no salvage. Scrap.
Nor is it safe to stay in the shower. Lightening, you know.
heh..take a break AK. It was a joke.
Harpu a troll? HaHaHaHaHaHa!
(guess that joke's getting old)
20,000+ people died yesterday, six times as in September 11. Your joke is not funny. Shame on you.
You're being childish and taking this thing way off base, apparently because you're looking for something to be offended by.
In the words of the great lady, "SHOVE IT!!"
