Sometimes you can be 100% right, and 100% politically suicidal.

I've been reading the koran too the muslims for 4 years now, they DESPISE this surah, from there own koran. But then again, better too curse the darkness, than turn the light on ;) ;) ;)

...shall be bound by Oath or Affirmation, to support this Constitution; Will that oath be taken while the Muslim nominee holds his right hand on a Bible?

"He is trying to perpetuate this notion that Islam is a monolithic entity inherently at odds with modernity and democracy," Iftikhar said. "That is absolutely false. ... American Muslims have long been contributing members of American society.
uhem, yeah...Tehran, 27 April (AKI) - The Iranian supreme leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has said that "human rights, are a weapon in the hands of our enemies to fight Islam."

"If ye love wealth greater than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest for freedom, go home and leave us in peace. We seek not your council nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen." --Samuel Adams

If Muslim judges are ok with anyone, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq, and Syria are happy to exact their brand of justice upon you.

Didn't Pat once divert his charity's airplane to Zaire to check on his diamond mines? Actually I'd be quite uncomfy if he were a judge.

I cannot accept anyone who puts their religion above the country!
Are you sure about that!? I believe the Pledge states that The United States is one Nation, UNDER GOD! ???????

Ah, yes, your signup date of October 2004 qualifies you as a veteran on this board.
I'm not DP. I don't expect you to care, but I'm not.

but I think it's important to remember that when Article VI, Clause 3 of the U.S. Constitution was written, over 99% of Americans were Christian, and of those over 98% were Protestant. "No religious Test" meant you didn't need to have membership in any established denomination in order to hold public office. Period. Good point. It is amazing how many people are ignorant of the intentions of the Founders. They want to interpret everything from the ACLU perspective. The Founders were not anti-religious. They don't read the writings of the Founders to understand their reasons behind elements of the Constitution.

Thanks! We make a serious mistake, one that could cost us our freedom, if we think islam is just like any other religion. People who lump it together with Christianity or Judaism, or Hinduism, for that matter, are being dangerously superficial. We Americans need to educate ourselves about islam. Here's a good place to start, for those of you interested: http://www.faithfreedom.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2389

The Washington-based Council on American-Islamic Relations yesterday called on "mainstream political and religious leaders" to repudiate the "hate-filled remarks."They might, CAIR, just as soon as moslems everywhere reject and repudiate the koran.
Fair enough?

The Mammoth has been around FR for a lot longer than you think. (now here is where you say "well so was *I*, so was *I*!!! LOL)

OK, fair enough. I take you at your word. That makes TWO people who think Pat Robertson is wrong.
I'd say that suggests that you're outnumbered.
Have a nice day.

Pat is apparently on a publicity tour of making incindiary statements. I wonder if donations are down.
The nice thing is that he'll never be president, and so his promises of how he would govern are meaningless.
I'd have reservations nominating a muslim, too, but every person deserves to be evaluated as an individual. Anwar Sadat and Osama bin Laden are not clones.
