Wow, what a diatribe!

Someone pushed a button somewhere.

Can't say that I agree with the undergirding logic that forms your arguments, but I'm not a Buchananite either.

"freedom to speak whatever damn language you want to,"

AH, no. And your arguments about supply and demand for workers is well off the mark and so is your whole idea of supply and demand.

When the supply exceeds demand in a highly employed society (which we are) then the worth of that supply (labor) goes down.
As a former roofing business owner, I've been affected right here in Florida by those factors, and those illegals were not taking low paying jobs that no one else wanted.
They simply crowded out well paid semi skilled workers right out of the workforce.
Construction used to be a darn good paying job. Not anymore.
Those illegals don't live within the same standards of living that you and I do.
I've seen dozens live in one room while 90% of that money went straight back to Mexico.
Heck, I've seen them live in vans that go job to job.

That trends the worth of the labor market down and that is not good

Now go ahead. Call me a buchananite.

You heathy? No criminal background? Willing to work and have a job waiting? Great, COME IN AND WELCOME!

We already have that. It's called LEGAL immigration.

Are you and bayourod the same person, just using a different login name that you registered a couple of weeks ago?

"The acid test of whether this is true or simply a verbal subterfuge is when you point out that a guest worker program combined with a plan to let illegals register and become legit would eradicate the "illegal" nature of the immigrants. If the person balks at this point, you know it is just bullsh!t and the "illegal" stuff is just a convenient pretext. You see it all the time on FR."

I've got no problem with a "guest worker program", as long as it only applies to NEW "guest workers" who apply LEGALLY from their home countries. ANY "guest worker progream" that allows any illegal who is presently in the US to REMAIN in the US is unacceptable. ALL illegals SHOULD BE DEPORTED IMMEDIATELY (or as immediately as feasible). Add to that, that no "guest worker program" participant should EVER be eligible for citizenship, unless they go back home and go through the existing citizenship application process.

Any thing else is simply favoring criminality.

Look at my post. Do you think that those illegals are driving down the price of housing, or did they drive down the price of labor?

Hint: you know the right answer.

From the Bush interview above:

Bush's plan would provide temporary visas to guest workers. They would have to leave afterward, and program participants would get no special consideration when they apply for legal residence.

Supply and demand means that wages should rise if their are not enough legal workers. But the corporate elites and lackeys can't play fair they need to stick it up the A$$ of Joe six pack by flooding the labor market with these poor ignorant people. Lets see if you can pass the HONESTY TEST :

If these Mexicans, Hondurans, and Guatemalans are such a needed asset to the USA would you care if if your daughter started dating the grounds-keeper ????

You won't answer because you are a coward and sellout for a quick buck !!

Take a leap pal !!

Great, COME IN AND WELCOME!"

No borders for you, eh? Great! YOU pay for them. YOU get your local hospitals closed! YOU address the 40+ kids in each class. YOU go work in an area in the US where english is not spoken.

You sound like a typical liberal. Sell everyone down the road so you can have the smug self-satisfaction of thinking you are a "good" person when you are in fact destroying America.

President Bush's plan provides a temporary visa to a "guest worker" (a person who was an illegal alien) and they have to leave when the temporary visa expires. Please tell me why they would leave when the temporary visa expires, I have missed that detail.

Yeah, and I bet he has a bridge in Brooklyn for sale too.

From the article:

"It's very important for the American people to know immigration reform will be done with a border security initiative that makes it clear to the people that we will do everything we can to stop illegal people from coming into our country," Bush said.

It's far more important for the American people to know that immigration reform legislation is rarely fully funded or enforced.

Dec. 17, 2004: - The National Intelligence Reform Act contained the requirement that 2,000 new Border Patrol Agents be hired and that 8,000 new detenton beds for illegal aliens be provided in fiscal year 2006.

February 9, 2005 - Bush's proposed 2006 budget would fund only 210 new Border Agents.

July 15, 2005 - The Department of Homeland Security Appropriations Act only provides funding for 1,000 new agents and 2,240 new detention beds in fiscal year 2006.

Yes. I know the answer. The cost of labor is down.

Do you believe that educated immigrants from other countries are going to fill those jobs? I think you know the answer.

Much of our youth are too lazy to take manual jobs and/or they're too ignorant to get a job requiring a skill or a degree.

The U.S. isn't the only country with a healthy and growing economy. Many foreign students studying here in the U.S. are heading back home to work.

We need to start worrying about our dumbed down education system, or we'll be thinking up incentives to get those educated foreigners over here to fill high tech jobs.

Supply and demand. Supply and demand.

The U.S. has always been technically superior. Our strength has been our superior cutting edge science and technology. That's where we need to push forward. Our national security and economic health depend on it.

And BTW, I see a lot of American companies are coming back to the U.S. and a lot of foreign companies are over here to use our skilled labor. Go figure.

I guess Bush didn't shrink government when he brought in more revenue by cutting our taxes either.

Because you can't do this at the point of a gun. What kind of hell do you want to rain down on our country? This is a phased method that will do what you want.

What?

You think these corporations are sitting on their money.

It just doesn't work like that.

They put their profits to work and that puts America to work.

After an illegal alien sneaks into this country and gets a taste of American life, why would anybody in their right mind go back to stinkin corrupt third world shithole like Mexico. Nice try Jorge Bush but once they are here, they ain't leaving. All they have to do is drop a few kids compliemnts of the stupid US tax payers and bleeding heart liberals will be screaming bloody murder if the illegal and his family were asked to leave. What a friggin joke.

Cutting taxes was excellent but what did President Bush do with the additional revenue generated by cutting taxes?

You can't do it with a temporary visa program either because there is no way they will leave when the temporary visa expires. So I wonder what the next step will be then?
