LOL! That's sixtytwomilliontwohundredthousandfourhundredandthirtyONE!
Heh, yes, I remember the Anita Bryant destruction by LeftMedia ("XM" I'm now calling them), and considering that Anita Bryant as a human being led a moral, ethical and from all that I've read about her, productive and well intended life, the destruction that ensued was pure XM theatre of the destructive kind, not at all journalism, but some political authoring of the destruction of a good human being because she didn't cowtow to XM and Left zealotry.
The XM is nothing more than zealot political hacks who sit around and go for what is most destructive to further their own stop-gap hopes (they'll be there to save once the ship sinks, along those lines, and yet they never show up with any alternative boats, moreorless when they DO show up, to sit around and watch while people sink).
Never forget that there are actual human individuals behind the keyboards, holding the cameras, working the information, which later appears as impersonal literary triangular content...but the intention seems to be shared by most in XM and that is that what works for them is the destruction of the United States with any reference to morality (the Ninth Circuit Court is a great example of this) and the destruction of anyone and everyone (eventually) who asks them to stop, modify, consider otherwise.
Yes, I remember what XM did to Anita Bryant. There was and is no excuse for it other than the Left considered her someone necessary to expend. And so they did: used media like a rapier to ruin someone publicly who was and is a good person of conscience and productivity.
Florida Orange Juice should never have caved to the media pressure, in my view, removing Bryant as spokesperson afterward.
Oh, and welcome to the GOP, Cape Cod. I had a similar wakeup after 09/11, having wandered into the DNC as a voter a while earlier after a life as a Republican.
Never again. I today cannot fathom how I EVER made that tangent, other than I fell into being fooled by media during the first Bush (Sr.) Presidency and thought Clinton was interesting. Boy, were my priorites ever messed up, in retrospect.
Like the author from Cape Cod, I, too, was utterly repulsed by the community of liberals during, especially, the first Bush (W.) Presidency, and literally was driven away in revulsion from the hideous degeneracy of human crud I think I have ever read, heard or seen, during the W. campaign years, both first and second terms (although I was already back in the Republican membership by then).
When we're younger and perceiving the world through certain lenses because of it, it seems easier to be exploited by people who make a big show, "sound smart" and otherwise seem counter to the norm and even flippant. You live long enough, you see through all that and most who don't -- and don't change -- appear foolish, even dangerous at best.
But, yes, the Left's awfulness is more than enough to drive more reasonable people toward conservativism, of one degree or another. Better degrees of conservativism than increasing liberalism -- which has it's own track record to prove itself perpetually off.

"None of this is new, just a more intense form of an existing psychological disorder: Bush Derangement Syndrome."
So true. I think we all have our terms for this phenomenon...I call it Barking Moonbat Syndrome (or 'BMs' for short).
I work with some quite intelligent and professional people up here in the People's Republic of Massachusetts. In their work they range from average to brilliant.
Mention George Bush or conservatives and it is almost a Jekyll and Hyde moment. Logic, reason and anything remotely based on facts goes OUT the window. Faces narrow into looks of disdain, voices raise, foam appears around the mouth...well, I exaggerated the last one (but not by much).
But there really is something to this. Liberalism IS a mental disorder, but will anyone ever be brave enough to study this?
This could have been problem number eleven in my essay about problems that will have the rats hiding under their beds: Marginal Democrats who will run away in disgust after seeing the way the Democrat controlled ratmedia attacked the president over Katrina.
Mindless rage doesn't attract new voters.
LOL... 'empower' him w/paragraphs!
Excellent!
After church bump.
-Any progressive views that I share with the left...-
Not quite a conservative yet. Let's add him to the conservative pile so he can further water down the remaining values of the Republican party.
Thanks for posting. A glimmer of hope across America.
Hence, they are called "useful idiots"!
