A wall or fence is useless when those who get over it are treated as kings by the government, given medical aid and social security that citizens are not allowed to get, and can work for high wages but not have to pay taxes. When they are caught breaking the law, they are not punished but given a free ride over the border to try again.

Stop treating criminals like kings, and you will not need a wall, start punishing criminals as criminals and you will not want a wall, they will stream the other way.

Damn, just loose the IRS on them for not paying their taxes, they will scream foul!

"Prior to September 11, 2001, illegal immigration was considered a regional issue without national implications.

At least the dorks in DC admit to it now.

We've been screaming about illegal immigration since the 80's, and telling them about the "OTM" paraphernalia we find in the desert since the 90's.

Lessee what happens now...

I can't view the Minute Men projects as anything more than xenophobia until I see them out patrolling that long stretch of Canadian border.

They've been patrolling some the Canadian border for some weeks now. It was posted on FR.

Also, Rumsfield among many others have warned the southern border is a conduit for terrorists. They find their paraphenalia all over. And yes, there have been terrorist suspects aprehended and deported who crossed that border.

Thanks for the link, it sounds very good. Surely other states will take similar action.

Some highlights from the website:

"It's time to stop complaining about Washington not doing its job.

It's time to ENFORCE THE LAW and PROTECT OUR OWN BORDER...

Facts About The California Border Police Initiative:

The California Border Police will be a state police force (like the CHP) established in the state constitution and under the authority of the Governor.

California Border Police officers will be authorized to patrol the border and enforce all federal immigration laws statewide, including laws against employers who knowingly hire illegal immigrants.

The California Border Police Initiative will save state taxpayers at least $10 for every one dollar it costs.
The California Border Police will be sworn and trained police officers, not volunteers."

A thin lead curtain would suffice.
