Thanks. I didn't THINK I was imagining it. ;)

"You ever hike for miles almost straight up, following elk tracks? Then stalk it up close until you can get a good clean kill? Then gut it and pack it for miles back to your truck. It is extremely athletic and challenging. That's another reason most liberals don't hunt."

So is that what this is all about? "I HUNT AND KILL MY OWN FOOD SO I AM A MAN" thing? And someone who does not enjoy hunting is automatically a pantie waste liberal? I don't hunt myself, but a lot of my friends do. None of them are Rambo about it. Sheez.

"Ug! Learn to shoot. Hike in forest. See deer. Shoot deer. Kill deer. Gut. Clean. Drag out of forest. Put in truck. Take home and EAT! FOOD!"

Sounds like brain surgery to me.

"Frankly, what is your solution to the over 60,000 deer/vehicle accidents that occur here in Michigan annually and the millions of dollars in crop and landscaping damage due to our over abundance of deer?

You oppose their hunting so what is your solution to the problem?????"

Have you ever stopped to consider that if there was no hunting that the deer wouldn't be scared-sillllly and running all over the place....including the road to get away from some schmoe with a gun? And have you considered that the fawns bare more offspring due to the shocking loss of life to their family members? The deer are smart. And scared.

I grew up in a semi-rural area of California. There were tons of deer in the mountains. No huntin' allowed, of course. Oh......and I NEVER heard of a car EVER hitting a deer. The deer were peaceful and stayed away from the roads. There were no guns to scare them. They lived a normal life.........

There are sad dust covered animal heads on the walls of far too many places to prove that.

I have a very wealthy friend who has been to Africa several times at an average cost of around $30,000 per monthly trip. The game that he has shot ultimately went to feed the people in the nearby villages while the trophy heads he sent home.

Literally every hunting trip he has taken he has documented with an incredible slide show which he has shared with the local schools in the Traverse City area to show the importance of carefully regulated game management.......

That is what deer hunting and any hunting is ultimately all about: Game management!

If not for the volunteers and FINANCIAL FUNDING from hunters and fishermen, there would be no concerted efforts or monies to preserve natural habitat for the various species of game and wildfowl and you would ultimately see their numbers decline to the point of extinction despite the efforts of the extremist environmentalists...........

DO YOUR HOMEWORK BEFORE YOU EMBARRASS YOURSELF FURTHER ON THESE HUNTING THREADS.......

Think of hunting as retroactive abortions for deer and I'm sure you'll be fine with it.

Now, isn't that special.

I bet he had easy time going through customs. Yeah sure.

Meanwhile, ask your "very wealthy friend" to get a calculator and find how many African families and schools could be supported with a $30k donation. He'll be astounded. Ask him to please put his money towards a meaningful purpose. Geeez Louizzze. What a friggin' waste.

PS....I've been to Africa, too. The LAST thing on my mind after seeing the beauty of those animals was to shooooot one. That is truly sickening and shameful, IMO.

Well, Yeaaaaaaaaa! Duh!

What do you think the problem here in S.E. Michigan is from silly?????? Wooded areas and subdivisions up the ass and very little public land in which to shoot the damn things!!!

I passed two dead deer this past week on the expressway on the way to work, virtually in the same spot, one on the west bound and one on the east bound and the closest area in which to hunt was probably 20 miles away.

We don't have pristine mountains here in S.E. Michigan sweetheart, all we have are pristine suburbs with quarter million homes in wooded lots with tons and tons of stupid ass deer that are getting nailed by cars, not hunters!!!!@

You my dear are clueless!

"I was only posting my opinions."

Since this thread is about the outdoors, the old question about the tree falling in the woods comes to mind. To paraphrase that question in order to make it fit this particular situation, if you kept your option to yourself, would it still be your opinion? It's worth a try.

And to top it off, in my subdivision, there is a wooded area approximately 1/8 square mile at the entrance where I saw 5 deer a month and a half ago....... These stupid rats are destined for vehicle bumper contact.......

Over 60,000 annual vehicle/deer collisions here in Michigan. Once again I ask you:

WHAT IS YOUR SOLUTION?

"Have you ever stopped to consider that if there was no hunting that the deer wouldn't be scared-sillllly and running all over the place."

Do you know basic four-legged wild animal biology? The deer are "running all over the place" because they're in the RUT this time of year, and chase one another over hither and yon to defend territory and to MATE. They're not running around because they're "scared." Yeesh! Deer normally live out their lives within a five mile radius of where they are born.

Man, you're ignorant. This isn't even any fun anymore. I'm thinking you've GOT to be related to Lauralee Braswell. And while I never thought I'd say these words, my apologies to Lauralee for the comparison because you make HER look like a Rocket Scientist, LOL!

Oh. You are wrong. You are SO wrong. You are so hideously wrong it's pathetic. No deer hunting in CA, huh? Alrighty then!!!

Sheesh. I stand by my earlier comment to you. You're jealous. You've NEVER shot a gun and you're flat out jealous.

"No deer hunting in CA, huh? Alrighty then!!!"

---I didn't say there was no hunting anywhere in California, but there wasn't (and isn't) near where I grew up. And, there must be huntin' somewhere 'round here....but none that I'm aware of. (but then again, I'm not lookin').

Sheesh. I stand by my earlier comment to you. You're jealous. You've NEVER shot a gun and you're flat out jealous.

--- Jealous?? Jealous of what????? A mental patient on heroin can shoot a bird outta the sky.......and nail a deer with the right rifle. And, I have several guns. I just wouldn't point one at a person (unless they broke in), nor would I ever point one at an animal. But, hey....that's me (and many others).

Well, yes, there IS deer hunting in CA. Thanks for admitting it. Ya must've grown up in LA or San Fran from what I can tell.

A mental patient can shoot a gun, yes. A bird out of the sky with said weapon? Um. Only if he's VERY lucky.

What kinda weaponry do you have? ;) I LOVE talking about THIS subject!!!
