We agree...the snowball theory.
Reagan did it with the Berlin Wall.
It will work again. IMHO
..the first time I heard the "plantation" analogy used to describe the welfare state, was in the early '90s.
It was utilized in an inspiring speech which could have been given by Frederick Douglas a century earlier.
I say that to say this: the emerging of conservative black leaders in America is a cause for great hope for the future of the Republic.
The speech I heard was given by a man whom I am proud to have voted for in the 1996 primary--Dr. Alan Keyes.
Herman Cain is the best voice for ALL, for his savvy and diligence in life cannot be mistaken as nothing else but what it truly is.
Heh. Line forms on the right, kids.
One and the same. I'm still amazed he didn't get elected in Georgia. He will one day. Isakson is destined to be a one term senator and a multi term liar.
I am hungry for pizza now.....
hallelujah

"And we also have Lynn Swann! We'll take them, all ages!"
I told people before the Super Bowl that if the Steelers win (and they did) that Swannie will win the gubernatorial race in a walk. Thank God he's a Republican. Rendell might as well withdraw.
Celebrating a Century and a Half of Civil Rights Achievement by the Republican Party
Republicans held our first state convention in Jackson, Michigan on July 6, 1854. That fall, the GOP swept to victory throughout the North. Other anti-slavery Members of Congress joined the party, so that less than two years later, on February 2, 1856, Republicans elected a Republican Speaker of the House. The Republican National Committee first met the next month, to coordinate opposition to the pro-slavery policies of the Democrats, also known then as "slaveocrats."
And that summer, Republicans held our first national convention. There, we nominated our first presidential candidate, the Georgia-born form California Senator John Fremont. Four years later, we won the White House for the "Great Emancipator."
As the nation sacrificed during the Civil War, Republicans planned the most significant amendments ever to our Constitution and enacted - despite fierce opposition from the Democrats - the 13th Amendment to ban slavery, the 14th Amendment to protect all Americans regardless of the color of their skin, and the 15th Amendment to extend voting rights to African-Americans. The Republicans' 1875 Civil Rights Act guaranteed equal access to public accommodations without regard to race. Struck down by the Supreme Court in 1883, this law would be reborn as the 1964 Civil Rights Act.
"Every man that wanted the privilege of whipping another man to make him work for nothing, and pay him with lashes on his naked back, was a Democrat. Every man that raised bloodhounds to pursue human beings was a Democrat. Every man that cursed Abraham Lincoln because he issued the Emancipation Proclamation was a Democrat." - Robert Ingersoll, 1876.
For its first 80 years, the Republican Party was the only one to provide a home for Afican-Americans. Until well into the 20th century, every African-American Member of Congress was a Republican. The same was true for nearly all state legislators and other elected officials.

PING
Thanks so much for the ping.
I recently met three young black Americans near the American Naval base in Rota. All three were clean cut, articulate, very well mannered and respectful of women. They didn't use profanity and didn't drink very much. Very beautiful indeed. Special thanks to President Ronald Reagan, specifically with Proposition 48 and the crazy notion that every human has the potential to be beneficial to society.
Republican's don't even need to take 20-25% if 10-15 percent of the Black vote swung our way Dems would be out of power.
Too All Black Voters;
Come Home.
Swann could do big things & from the sound of him he's no wishy-washy RINO either. He's made a couple of statements that made think "Wow this guy could run nationally"... I know some folks fault him for not having any political experience but J.C. Watts, Steve Largent, and Jack Kemp (all Republicans) did just fine as former ballplayers.
"Not only is Mr. Hunter smart, he is handsome. :)"
LOL!
We don't care if he's handsome or not. We'll just say anything to have 50% of them on our side. Of course 50% will be on the other side, but it's a good start considering only about 15% of blacks now vote Republican.
The democrat party was the KKK party, the pro lynching party, kept blacks from voting party...........
