As the fifth anniversary approached, the 9/11 Scholars for Truth is urging Congress to reopen the investigation claiming they have amassed a wealth of scientific evidence to prove their version of the terror attacks.

A wealth of scientific evidence? Let's see it you "leading scientists."

But University of Wisconsin assistant professor, Kevin Barrett, said experts are unwilling to believe theories which don't fit into their belief systems.

An assistant professor is a "leading scientific expert"? IN my view, the authors of this piece are doing everything they can to make these crackpots seem legit. And I want names so if any of the "scientific experts" live around here I can go have a chat with them.

You are right. The first tower absolutely did not fall straight down. Look at this picture and then imagine that huge, heavy structure falling off to the side like that and inpacting and damaging other buildings:

Now, on a site I set upo soon after 911 and maintain to this day, The Attack on America Site, go read some of the eyewitness accounts, particularly, the view from ground zero page. Pics from another building damaged by falling debris.

You forgot the best part of the moonbat philosophy: bin Laden was created by Reagan and was our ally, but of course bin Laden would NEVER work with a secular Muslim like Saddam. I didn't know Reagan was a fundamentalist Muslim!

These dopes have earned my deepest contempt.

That's almost Spock-like in it's logic. Live long and prosper. (and you are 100% correct to boot!)

They believe a group of US neo-conservatives called the Project for a New American Century, set on US world dominance, orchestrated the 9/11 attacks

Why do you think Bush flew his family out?

Logic 101 for a Moonbat... if they planned this in advance, why would they have to fly them out afterward? Why wouldn't they already be gone?

I can't believe that a conspiracy this well planned would overlook that little detail.

Also Bush and the neo-cons forgot to have some of the 911 highjackers "be" Iraqi.

It's unbelievable how so many of our so called "friends and allies" believe this BS. The real and true "conspiracy" concerning 911 is how their and our liberal media feeds so much hatred of America, plus their own personal jealousy of America, can cloud their common sense. Which apparently they have very little of.

The problem with these whack jobs is that they are in a profession where you publish or perish. They will rewrite history to suit their agenda. I can't figure out why these people hate the US so much. These are tenured profs who wouldn't have a prayer of getting the same position or money in another country. I just hope because the universities think these nuts are important, they are not being given access to our children. I have really come to hate tenure over the years. It just protects people who shouldn't be teaching.

Yes, should be an interesting report. All I can say is, given what little I know, a massive explosion and all that damage so very close by seems much, much more likely than a "plot" no one has any evidence for.

I'm looking forward to the Jan report by the NIST - it will go a long way to stopping this caturwalling....

It won't do a thing about it. Even if these kooks had been at the WTC site and watched the planes hit in person, they'd still claim that Bush had the buildings blown up and that what they had just seen was some kind of illusion manufactured by Rove and Cheney. There's no point in even trying to reason with these people.

Actually, if the Dims win the House or Senate in November, I would expect the caterwauling by these kooks to increase exponentially, as they would go all out to demand investigations into Bush's role in 9/11. The scary part is, I could see the Dims actually opening such an inquiry.

I don't mind this whole conspiracy mindset. It really exposes the moonbat lefties for the crazy people that they are.

They call these people scholars? They are teaching in college?

They need to fire the lot of them.

This is what people send their kids to college for?

But I'll bet they all accept without question and with perfect faith everything that is reported by Reuters, AP, and CBS.

The planes were bigger than an old B-29 bomber and full of gas. The planes penetrated the buildings at high velocity much like a bullet enter the body. Gasoline has more explosive effect than dynamite, which is why it was able to move the equivalent of a small building three thousand miles though the air. If the WTC had been constructed like the Empire State building, but they weren't. They were supported only at their ends, and when their insulation was stripped off, the heat softened them and they bent in the middle, slipping off their ends.

But seriously, the universities should fire these fools.

Thanks. That's exactly the photo I was thinking of.

I can't quite remember the EXACT placement of each tower (I used to live right there in Battery Park City but my spacial relationship skills are notoriously lacking), but does it really matter if WTC 7 was a block, or half a block, away?

Thanks for link also.

horizontal puffs of smoke seen during the collapse of the towers are indicative of controlled explosions used to bring down the towers.

...or, they could have been caused by floors collapsing within the building. A knowledge of physics does not make one an engineer.
