That's what's scares me - - that these young adults are taking their parents' Democrat voting habits with them and fouling other states the way their parents fouled the states they're running from.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Conservatives are out breeding them. Don't worry. In the red states conservatives will always have more bodies at the voting booth.

Colorado? Did I hear someone say Colorado? I live here and housing is affordable and costs are bearable.

And,,,There aren't any little black flies to eat you alive in the early summer,,either...or "chiggers"..and the mosquitoes aren't as big as hummingbirds.

The whole "leaving the Northeast" thing is about taxation and the fact that the unions have killed off all big business.
Nobody wants to leave their parents behind, but there are no jobs and the taxes are too high.
Make the NE business friendly and back off on the taxation and people will stay.

but I have a 2600 sq/ft ..$7,100 taxes

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

"Have" is the right word to use.

You don't "own" your home. You are a renter. The government is the landlord.

By the way,,,what percentage of the $7,100 is going to support the government school jobs program?

And needless to say, they took all of that gold and dumped it into the public schools to turn it into lead.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

I am sorry for your pain, but the above sentence is very funny. Lead? How true!

I live in a red state surrounded by 5,000 sq. and plus multimillion dollar homes. Our home is on the small size ( for the area) at 2,000 sq. ft. Our taxes are $900 a year.

Of course, it is a red state.

FL has no state income tax, so a lot of the municipal funding comes from property taxes. We have, however, been raped in the property tax arena over the past couple years.

I'd be guessing on the amount of funding that goes to the P/S.

The leaving stat is only one part of the equation, someone needs to ask where they are going.

The media doesn't want to mention explicitly where they are going because the truth will hurt the lib agenda.

But we have some clues in post #5 above. In it, a chart shows that the highest growth rates are in Florida, Virginia, and Texas. Two of these states have no state income tax. All three are red states.
