I wish I could go. Since childhood I have had a fascination with the ancient areas. I guess I should have been a archaeologist.

” I thought it was right smack dab in the middle of the forum.”

The temple to Vesta is in the middle of the forum; it’s circular with a conical roof.

My husband and I went to Rome in 2005 and Palatine Hill and the Forum were our favorite places. You could sit there for days and just imagine how it was when Caesar was alive.

Yes, spectacular. That, along with Torre Argentina, the place where Caesar was killed and which is now a cat sanctuary were our favorite spots.

I guess I should have been a archaeologist.

Me too, sigh. My goal someday is to do volunteer work at a dig. Not the same thing as being a professional but still not shabby.

This looks almost exactly like the Apollo temple in the Star Trek episode.
