But like I’ve said many times “It’s a lot easier to turn McCain to the Right than Obama or Clinton.” At least McCain will not “cut & run” out of Iraq & Afghanistan and he will appoint conservative judges to the courts.

I doubt anybody will be turning McCain to the right. As soon as he's in power, he'll be doing some more of his standard reaching out to the left. This time, there will be nobody to minimize just how far to the left he reaches.

I actually think that having a Dem, especially one known to be ultra-liberal, will be a benefit to conservatism. The conservatives in the congress will oppose them - and even the RINOs. However, the RINOs will be following McCain just as they followed Bush.

And as far as SC goes - McCain has given no evidence to show he would appoint conservatives. He voted for Ginsburg AND said Alito would be unacceptable because he wore his conservatism on his sleeve. Those aren't the actions/statements of one that will help our cause.

WOT - fighting a war overseas while keeping our borders wide open and having tens of millions of unknowns in the country is foolishness. We are doing our best to secure Iraq's borders - but not our own. Even after we've been attacked. I'd be all for the war IF our borders were secured on 9/12. We have left ourselves vulnerable, all for the sake of 'profit'.

Sometimes, there just isn't a good answer. McCain certainly isn't it. I realize the tendency to want to have a party/candidate to back and get involved and hope. But when hope that the candidate will change is all we have - it's not nearly enough! Supporting McCain, IMO, means supporting the status quo and supporting the GOP's move to the left. Look are far we've gone left in so short a time. We settled for Bush and got McCain. Who's next? Who could possibly be worse than McCain? Kennedy (R) ?

I guess thats the best they can do given the political climate here.

I hear ya. That's why I can't even get enthused about the local MM group. I mean, I love the people and the rallies - but IMO it's a lost cause.

Moving is about all that will help. But the rest of the US is fast becoming just as bad. Sad.

I keep sending back McCain money appeals with “Enforce our laws—stop illegal immigration” messages. Who knows, it may have some impact now for him to know that he’s losing money and voter support because of his arrogance on this issue...

I just don't think he cares. Not the man that collaborated with Teddy on legalizing all the illegals PLUS allowing them to bring in every single family member that is still in Mexico! Anyone that could've drafted that legislation, plus all the other Dem collaborations, is a lost cause, IMO. I wish we had someone I could feel enthusiastic about. I was even trying to feel hopeful about Romney - hoping he would become conservative if he got the nomination. But I can't go as far as to hope McCain will! That's stretching the boundaries of my abilty to deny reality and live in happy land....

My son has a Korean friend who came here at fourteen, by himself on a student visa. The Christian school that he was attending closed down and sent all the kids to the other Christian school in town and our friend forgot to notify immigration. He graduated from UW and had to go back to Korea because his student visa was up. He even tried enlisting in the army, but even that wouldn’t work. So, now because he failed to notify immigration back when he was in high school, he is still having trouble getting a visa to get back into the country. He was here a few months ago and took all four tests for CPA certification, hoping that it will be easier if he could get a job first.

Without repeating myself...

At least McCain will not “cut & run” out of Iraq & Afghanistan and he will appoint conservative judges to the courts.

Its a little late to be accusing folks of being 'tools'.

We conservatives have already been dealt a real crappy hand. We can choose play or fold - thats all.

There are chicken processing plants all over the state except for Pleasant Valley. They raise pheasants there. The high school team is called the Pleasant Valley Pheasant Pluckers. Try saying that really, really fast.
