Having Obama as President would be a disaster for the cause of black respect.
He would be a disaster, and people all over the country will say in private gatherings that we won’t let that happen again anytime soon!
“Like Oprah, this has nothing to do with race.”
Could you elaborate on this comment, please? Are you saying that these black conservatives are not making this decision based on race?
let me see if i have this right....white guy doesn’t vote for Obie because he’s black, that’s racist. Black guy votes for obie becuase obie’s black, that’s not racist?

And, that’s the saddest part of it all - because it won’t be based on the color of his skin so much as his ideology - one which people will then assume ALL blacks agree with.
Yep, you’ve got it... Astounding, isn’t it?
When 95% of the Black community votes for the only Black candidate running in the Democratic Primary, isn’t that racist?
This has nothing to do about policies and everything to do with race...that is racist in nature.
Obama made it a point to come to Maryland and openly campaign against Steele, backing Carden(sp) and ‘telling’ the voters that ‘race didn’t matter, go for Carden’. Steele was given a rough time in the black community in MD, think they had quite a few ‘OREO’ moments which were naturally cast aside by the media...
Of course, when BO left MD and went to TN to campaign for Ford, the object was to ‘help the ‘brother’ get ahead’.
WHAT A BUNCH OF PHONIES....
Pretty disappointed with Armstrong, and any “conservative” who would support a person because of race, creed, or color.
It seems he is black first, and conservative second.
(For the record, I voted against Lieberman.)
“Among black conservatives,” Williams said, “they tell me privately, it would be very hard to vote against him in November.”
Oh, so I guess that considering only race when I encounter others is now acceptable. Whew, thanks. I heard JC on the radio yesterday and lost all respect for him. Now I get to add Armstrong to my list of former respectable individuals.
Hopefully, that will even it out.
“I understand why they feel this way and I do not blame them.”
Would you be allowed to say the same thing about any “typical white guy” that votes for McLame based on his skin color. Racism is racism. Period.
For Watts to imply that Obama’s potential “solutions” for poverty and urban problems would be effective is mind boggling.
Liberals policies and brainwashing are KEEPING blacks in poverty.
I agree. Watts seems to be all for “buying” votes by promoting groupthink policies. That flies in the face of conservative principles of individual freedom individual responsibility.
Sad. Just sad.
Obama and other racists threw Martin Luther King under the bus a long time ago. It's NOT about the content of ones character - it's all about SKIN COLOR. We are taking a huge step backwards.
Allen West's response to: Black Conservatives Conflicted on Obama Campaign
Allen West is a Black Conservative candidate running for the U.S. House of Representatives from Florida.
Obama set HIMSELF apart at an early age. He CHOSE to be thought of as black.
From ‘Dreams of My Father’,
“I CEASED TO ADVERISE MY MOTHER’S RACE AT THE AGE OF12 OR 13, when I began to suspect that by doing so I was ingratiating myself to whites”
From Dreams of My Father, “ I FOUND A SOLACE IN NURSING A PERVASIVE SENSE OF GRIEVANCE AND ANIMOSITY AGAINST MY MOTHER’S RACE”.
From ‘Dreams of my Father’, “The emotion between the races could never be pure..... the THE OTHER RACE (WHITE) WOULD ALWAYS REMAIN JUST THAT: MENACING, ALIEN AND APART”
From Dreams Of My Father, “never emulate white men and brown men whose fates didn’t speak to my own. IT WAS INTO MY FATHER’S IMAGE , THE BLACK MAN, THE SON OF AFRICA, THAT I’D PACKED ALL THE ATTRIBUTES I SOUGHT IN MYSELF.
From Dreams Of My Father:
“THAT HATE HADN’T GONE AWAY,” he wrote, BLAMING WHITE PEOPLE,- SOME CRUEL, SOME IGNORANT, sometimes a single face, sometimes just a faceless image of a system claiming power over our lives.”
From Dreams Of My Father;
“There were enough of us on campus to constitute a tribe, and when it came to hanging out many of us chose to function like a tribe, staying close together, traveling in packs,” he wrote. “It remained necessary to prove which side you were on, TO SHOW YOUR LOYALTY TO THE BLACK MASSES, TO STRIKE OUT, and name names”
From Dreams Of My Father, “I had grown accustomed, everywhere, to SUSPICIONS BETWEEN THE RACES..”
